    Tegu Lizard!

So I bought a baby Black and white Tegu last night and am pretty excited about it. Little guy is only about 8 inches long but will grow in the 3 foot range for females and 4 foot for males. Talk about a guard dog Anyone else have some crazy reptiles they keep?

Use to have a baby american alligator and a 4ft diamond back rattle snake at the same time until my mom (landlord) found out and made some excuse that the 'home owners insurance would drop coverage if they knew'...pshh, i shouldve keep em! The guy i got em from use to own an exotic reptile store and i always got the hook up on cool shitt like that. I am a reptile lover, but due to the kids/family it just doesnt allow me to entertain my love them. Now i just have the norm animals: rabbit, cat...oh and A chicken. Or a cock as dsm might say.

My daughter has a two foot (almost) bearded dragon. It makes me laugh some time.... when it sees you it will come running over to you just like a dog. Pretty friendly and will eat right out of your hand. it's name was Spike, then it started laying eggs, so she renamed it to something a little more girlie

Water monitors are huge, savannahs are also nice. Mainly I picked up the tegu because of its intelligence and docile nature. Nice collection lovbyts.. wish I could have a python -.- but I CANNOT STAND rodents.

I fed mine a Dobson fly once..... my friend caught it at a construction site and brought it over. The fvckin thing was HUGE..... wingspan was like 3" lol. I put it in the cage and my tegu watched it fly around..... once it landed it was game over. Lots of crunching but he got the whole thing down.

Don't let him bite you either lol..... fvckers have sharp teeth lololol! They're dosile for the most part..... not feeding them live mice/rats helps a lot. Once they get full grown..... they can take down baby to mid size rabbits like nothin. I never fed em live shit tho.....

That is one nasty looking fly ... I bet it was awesome watching the tegu eat. Mine runs around like a maniac trying to catch crickets.
