I was hoping for a little girl the first time. the days in western society where you need sons to help plow the fields are gone mate!

besides, my little girl loves to snuggle up with her daddy in my recliner and have me read books to her, watch "Emily and dadda size" TV together, and when I'm laying on the sofa, she'll bring out her little doctor kit, and take my blood pressure, check my eyes, listen to my heart beat, give me a pretend shot, put a band aide on me, wet a paper towel and make me all better. (well, she aint little no more)

Alot of times that's true, but I can honestly say I would have been equally happy either way. I was very warmed up to the idea of having a girl. I prefer female dogs too (not comparing babies to dogs, lol) - just something about a 'daddy's girl' that gets me!

My wife was only 2 weeks when we found out, but I didn't announce it right away here. We went to the specialist yesterday for the sonogram that measures for down's syndrome, etc. Their equipment is more advanced than our montly OBGYN visit, so they were able to tell with much more accuracy. In another month or 2, we'll know for sure.
