I notice this silly expression tossed around a lot (particularly by newbies who just got done reading the AAS and gyno prevention stickies).
Instead of just asking what to do "if gyno comes up?" (or something that a nomal person would say), they'll use the exact term "gyno rears its ugly head". I always crack up at this, because they're blatantly mimicking whichever AAS guru from the 80s first wrote about gyno and used this obscure idiom.
But my question is: who first tied the term "rears its ugly head" to describe the onset of gynecomastia symptoms?
Any AAS historians (or just old guys) here?
