    allopathic vs osteopathic

What, as a patient, do you look for in a doctor?

What are yall's views on the differences between the 2?

any prejudices, opinions, thoughts as a patient to one of these docs?

*kinda dont know how to ask what im lookin for, but ill prolly figure it out after some convo on this topic.. .

Ok... i get it now. Naw dude. I'm not a big believer in all that mind/body/spirit crap. I mean, some of that fringe stuff may have some value. But I think alot of it is BS. Happier people seem to be healthier. This is true. But on the "spirit" leg of the tripod, I think some of it is pretty shaky. There are a lot of quacks out there trying to part you from your money, and this is a way in for them....

for example, categories I call quackery:

    Aura reading / cleansing
    Crystals
Clearing (as in Dyanetics or Scientology, what ever it's called now)
    Praying (as in Christian Science)
    Homeopathy (I mean, c'mon.... really??)

and the list goes on and on......

lol that has nothing to do with this :P ^^ and yea thats all dealing with the mind over body aspect... def alot of quackery!!

basically a quick difference is a DO is the same as a MD + chiropractic, they learn manipulation and have more of a whole body approach.

    MD's dont learn any manipulation.

Thanks for the response though, seems not many know a difference.

Ok, a different question. U need to go to a doc... is there a difference in preference between say:
Dr Smith DO vs Dr Smith MD?

everything else being the same? I say no.

but even chiropractice, some would argue, is not a hard science
