    2 Beers As PreWorkout?

    I used to know a guy who would come into the gym I worked at a little drunk, he would do extremely heavy dumbbell shrugs. He told me having a couple beers before working out helped him...I thought this was retarded...

    but I have done it a couple times (4-5 years later ha) and find it to actually be good... it gives me energy and also allows me to work through pain easier.. then I hit the sauna...

    I AM NOT ADVOCATING THAT ANYONE GET DRUNK AND GO LIFT WEIGHTS, I am simply stating that 1-2 beers before working out (at night, not in the morning) has allowed me to experiment with new perspective in my training.

    thoughts?

    yeah well thats what I said.... but it was just late one night and I hadnt exercised that day but had drank 2 beers but went anyways and found results favorable...

    I know some guys who like to have a shot or some recs pre work out, but when I ever did I couldn't focus on the mind/muscle connection at all.

    Caffeine is the only thing I take pre work out.

    In college my buddy, big guy, used to smoke a j before working out.. He would swear it would help him focus better and help him push through the pain.. never understood it, if I did that the only work out I would get is lifting the remote and curling chips... but whatever works for ya I guess..

    I DO NOT SUPPORT ILLICIT DRUG USE IN ANYWAY

    however, I have experienced many in fitness doing marihuana before liftin, hitting the bag, martial arts in general, swimming, long distance running, ...not so much short distance sprints...

    users report an enhanced mind - muscle connection while lifting accompanied with a small decrease in strength while also taking advantage of the purported anti inflammatory and pain relieving as well as the increase of ability to eat larger amounts of food...kinda like GHRP 6 eating haha

    I guy in my gym sips wine as he lifts and claims it helps alot... I dont buy it and i would never want to lift and drink at the same time that would be catabolic to me... But i do like to take a bong rip before a hard training session (this is legal for me, as i live in california) once i do that and start sipping my pre workout as soon as my music starts I get amped and concentrated on what im doing big time. I know to some it sounds perposterus but for me and MANY MANY other lifters i know expereicnce the same thing. It also helps with gettin me hunger PWO where normally exersice curbs my appittie.

    Ya for some it works great for others not at all. To each his own and whatever helps you helps you. Seems like a joint before workout would be better the alcohol tho. Talk about gym rage lol

    NO effin way I could smoke preworkout..... that shit always hits me hard. I get paranoid when I smoke and eat at a buffet. It feels like everyone is watching me lol!

    This reminds me of the "Bud Light" commercial where everyone was playing one sport or another, then they run to a cooler for a beer. I always thought that was stupid, but not as dumb as drinking beforehand.

    I always have better cardio the day after drinkin a "light beer" the heavy ones bog me down. Prolly has to do with the carbs and help deal with the pain...
    Or could just be placebo.
    Oh and I'm better at math after toking lol cuz I don't question myself whatsoever :-P
    But quit that shot I got psychologically addicted... :-(

    For me getting stoned is not a good idea but (only) one or 2 bong hits gets me pumped (sorry if thats agaisnt the rules to say) anything more than that and its a struggle. Its about that sweet spot

    me too, though i get paranoid in general, that probably goes with having a cop next door as well though

    ON THE ISSUE OF DRINKING BEFORE WORKING OUT, alcohol is actually a very potent energy source at 7cal/gram and it's also the most readily available of all energy sources, so much so in fact that after you drink almost all energy from the alcohol is used first and foremost before other energy stores are tapped, hence why your buddy felt "energized". Alcohol is also called a liquid frontal lobotomy due to it's ability to cut off the frontal lobe, thus impairing sensation and pain as well as time perception, which can also help in the gym as well.

    sh*t don't get me started...Phate..I second the fvckin A..
    As pre workout..I think no way...Post w/o it does have alot of carbs. We need water, not dehydration from alcohol. I would like to see some more studies on this. So far I have read beer PWO has no effect. I don't actually believe this. Until I see some serious evidence I will stick with my shakes.

    why stop at a couple of beers when you can stack some ganga to give you that deep concentration and a couple of rails to really get you going?

    I think i'm on a rolll now.... next, we can do a little locker room before each set to really get things pumping...

    shit! then we can stack some shrooms in there so that we can hallucinate how good of a workout we've had, and not be bothered by actually working out.

    but we'd have to change our friends to ones that are real skinny so that when we stand next to them, we look big.

    I mean, why fukkin workout at all?

    People get high to get high and then do the other things in their life. I think these guys may have a problem. But whatever, i try not to judge. Life is short. If they want to get a buzz and work out, what ever. As long as they don't hurt anyone.

    My friend's uncle in high school used to take a hit of acid before working out often, and he was a beast. What ever works for you I guess.

    I've known guys who do similar things with drugs. Work, music, workout, whatever. They get away with it for awhile. Months, sometimes even years. But over time, the one thing that is constant is the drugs. The other stuff has a tendency to drop off, and all that is left is the guy taking the drugs, no longer looking like a beast, but instead, skinny, teeth all fukked up, twitchy, tweeky, and then hitting you up for a loan, cuz...."I'm good for it man! C'mon, how long have we known each other?" and then never seeing the fukker again.

    if i have a few drinks at lunch on a gym day so be it but i dont intentionally get a buzz before and back to the acid...one of the best workouts in my early years...also not planned but dedication baby...lol

    lmfao at the acid comment. That would be a trip and a half littereally haha. I never drink a couple beers mid day as it leaves me drained and tired the rest of the day. Herbals tho dont seem to have the same effect on me as other people. Ive burned a whole blunt to my face and immedialty ran a 2 mile race comming in first place lol.

    well i guess we is similar cuz last time i weeded the lawn i was also hyped up....ppl are different..all there is to it
