Isn't there some sort of chloroform like spray that you could use? Like it will just make them pass out without any pain?

I can't comment on the incident cuz we don't really know what happened.

A Taser was discharged a number of times at a man who later died in Cumbria, the police watchdog said.

He looked like a big guy and correct me when if I am wrong but wouldn't a taser cause your muscles to just turn to mush. Could be already pretty hard on his heart being that big let along being tased.

Yes but chloroform is known to cause immediate cardiac arrest in a small percentage of people (like 4% I think) exposed to it which is why it went through its little experimental phase then stopped being manufactured.

Anyhow about the 450 people dying a year I'm not sure that bothers me at all. These 450 people who got tazed were all people who in one way or another posed a threat to police or acted in a way that endangered the people around them. So if they werent tazed, chances are someone else could have died or got hurt due to them being an idiot.

And considering how many people actually get tazed a year thats nothing.

That's a huge number for a "non-lethal" weapon.

Taser International took that claim off the package years ago. They are not considered "non-lethal" anymore afaik.

450 people dead based on a police man's interpretation of events is nothing? Capital punishment for public nuisance...really?

I'm sure I've had nights out with the boys where I could well have been deemed a public nuisance...
