Honda CRZ: Any of you guys own one?

My beater/daily driver (Scion tC) is dying. In the same week I had to replace the starter and a wheel bearing, a/c is on its way out, it has frame damage, etc etc. Time to start looking for a new daily driver/beater car and the only one in the price range (20k) I really like is the Honda CRZ.

So does anyone here have one? How do you like it?

I went and sat inside one at the dealership. It's actually got way more usable space inside than my current daily driver, the Scion tC does, despite it being a smaller car. Also, the fact that it doesn't have back seats lets me move the drivers seat farther back than in the tC, giving me more leg/arm room.

I know there's a Japanese version, not sure if Honda has sent it to Europe. I know Fifth Gear and Top Gear have both reviewed them, so I know it's not impossible to get them in Europe.

Seems like it's basically a crx remodel, and if it holds out like the older Honda single cams it should be a great car. I had an old 1.5 single cam that I turbo'd and it's still running on 8lbs of boost on a stock motor if that says anything about Honda motors.

if you got it in white and you tinted it black and put on black rims that would look sick

You guys probably aren't into Japanese car culture like I am, but recently the now out of business Best Motoring magazine tested various CRZs on the track, they actually do pretty well. A lot of tuner companies such as HKS, Spoon, Greddy/Trust have taken a large interest in the car. As I know right now HKS is developing a supercharger for the car, and I know Mugen recently built one thats pretty bad ass. I have a feeling Honda is using this Mugen concept as a prototype for a straight gas powered, possibly Type-R version to come to market in the future.

Either way I'm not looking to go fast...I have another car for that. This would be my every day car for work, running errands, the gym, etc.

Yeah my other car is an 06 M5...hence the reason I don't drive it every day haha. If I did, I'd end up having to live in it.

I think they are super gay, but they have a pretty cool interior. for a daily driver at that price point i'd rather get a Kia

Don't do it. I read a review, forget the magazine, but basically a major slacker in the performance department. Way too little torque and engine felt strained around town. There are better options. Then again if you drive it and like it who cares what others think?

What? If you wanted performance you shouldn't even be looking at the crz in the first place! That's like needing a car with storage space and test driving a smart car.

OP, you trying to buy something new with warranty?

As I mentioned earlier, I already have a fast car. This is just for a daily driver. Yes I'm buying new with a warranty. Just looking for info or opinions from people that own the car as I'm pretty sure this is what I want.

you stateside guys seem to view crx's as crappy runabouts, in UK/ireland they had a cult following and could blow off alot of powerful cars due to the light weight and revvy vti engines
