Ron Paul ??? Who is this man.
Well me being Canadian and just finding out about Ron Paul recently. I have to say that I just can't get enough of this man. I keep watching this man over and over and feel that he really speaks from the heart.
I consider myself into Canadian politics and have only really started learning about the grass roots movement. I obviously care about America because frankly what effects your country will effect mine.
I was curious on some thoughts and personal opinions about the man.

He has said things that are racist and if he were to win the primary he would be even easier than Palin to defeat. Great ideas, some not so much.

I had this conversation with a friend of mine. Media outlets will only cover the most pertinent candidates. Most people regardless of their political affiliations accept that Ron Paul will never make it on a Republican ticket. You can't run with Republicans and then say a bunch of things Republicans don't like and expect to end up out front. It just doesn't work like that. Fox and other outlets know that RP will not ultimately end up on the Republican ticket, thus he gets far less coverage than those who have far better chances. It's not that no one likes him, it's just that they know he won't be there at the end of all this, so they don't give him more coverage than he gets right now.
Rick Santorum gets about the same amount of coverage and he is very Republican, but he doesn't really have a shot...so he doesn't get the coverage. There are formulas for all of this.
RP has been around a long time. He always makes a lot of points and gets everyone talking, but can never close the deal.

You guys are missing the whole point about being President of the United States now.... It's not about good ideas and a genuine all out attempt to help our nation... It's about who has the most money, who will sell their soul and morals and give grants and tax breaks to BS companies/groups in exchange for funding their campaign, who's the bigger pushover so the political parties can have more inherent power. It's no longer about being a leader.. It's about being a celebrity.
What other nations leader tweets frequently, makes an appearance on every TV show, invites rappers to read poems, invites Pro basketball players to come play some backyard ball with him... A backbone or natural leadership is no longer considered important, its who's the most easily influenced and can't make any type of law that any group has an objection to..

"Boy, it sure burns me to have a national holiday for that pro-comunist philanderer, Martin Luther King. I voted against this outrage time and time again as a congressmen."
Now although his involvement with the "newsletters" that came out is debatable, you can see how some of his views can be taken as racist. One I specifically liked is if you own a bar/club/restaurant, you should not be mandated to allow certain people into your establishment. I see how this has direct meaning toward anti-fill-in-the-blank (black, muslim etc), allowing them to discriminate, however I agree that if my neighbor owns property and it is not a bank/hospital/grocery store etc that he doesn't have to let me on the premises if he doesn't want to. If a company were to discriminate against someone for something like the color of their skin then I think the marketplace has a way of dealing with them. Because of the likelihood of this being taken out of context by the majority of business owners, and used to discriminate against a protected class, I wouldn't even support this measure. Even though I agree with the core principles of not being forced to let some people on your property who you do not want there. Anyway I hope I didn't take that too out of context, I have not done any research on this but this is what I was told from a major RP supporter and I assume it is true (him favoring this choice that is). If someone knows better please correct me.

Go back 20+ years and you will see he has been a man of principle and you will not notice any difference today and from 20 plus years ago.

You do know he had ties to the communist parties right or are you completely ignoring the facts? J Edgar Hoover and the FBI have a shit ton on him but a federal judged sealed the records until 2027. Every attempt to get the files opened have been denied. Hmmm! I wonder why? I mean he was this great leader right? A known plagiarist but a great leader right? lol
For him to have a holiday is a joke, no other single person has one yet this communist does? Hilarious stuff but thanks for the day off right?***No source checks!!!***

i never heard the martin luther king comment
but i have heard him say the business owners should be aloud to let in or not let in whom they choose. And he is right. If people are truly free you should be able to say i dont want you here. And if the public feels that it is wrong people will boycott and the business will close or change eventually changing society. But people should have that choice.

Well this particular incident that Jon Stewart made light of was right after the GOP debates in Iowa. If you watched the debates, which I did, you surely noticed how Rick Santorum, several times had to interject and literally force himself into the debates, as he barely got any questions. In fact, most of his talking was done while debating with Ron Paul, who also got barely any questions. Also, I have Fox News on literally all day long and a good portion of the evening and I barely ever see or hear from Santorum or Ron Paul.
