big shout for the Scots this morning, would love to see them dispose of england!!!

nice for a russian player to get man of the match against Oz, that russian team makes up for lack of world class skill with heart and commitment.

get sick of commentary describing the italy ireland game as a big and difficult match for ireland, thats absolute rubbish. ireland should crucify italy, they are much inferior team and only near the top of the minnows for god sake. naysayers get a grip, we've beaten the tri nations champs convincingly!!

Russians played very well considering. If they keep going the way they have they could be good. Go on the Scots too for me too. But I'm not sure if they will manage it.

we really should beat wales which would set up a semi with france or england. we def have a great chance of hitting the final this time round. neither france nor england will relish playing us atm, france are all over the place and england are not a good team, their front row are giving away penalties like they are sweets

Yeah you guys are playing great, I really cant stand O'Gara though. If we make the final, we'll have to beat South Africa then NZ. Going to be tuff I think.

Agree with you dec11 but England don't turn up until the quarters ... would love to see some of the Northern nations in the finals (except France).... you fcukers have been playing well ..... but no need to play well until the 1/4's and further!!

i wouldnt go that far, and as far as england are concerned, wilkinson went off holding his arm and is doubtful for the w'end and armitage is on a ban for a dangerous tackle, two big blows for england. they are getting more coverage off the field lol, one guy i cant stand is ashton, hes a show boating twat, no place for it in rugby

theres always been a big rivalry against england in the home nations, there once was shared banter amongst the 3 other home nations that they didnt care about triple crowns and grand slams just as long as someone beat england to prevent their clean run. all comes from the fact its an english origin game and they were so dominant for so long.

its a gentlemanly rib tickling rivalry, not like the common tosspot thuggish soccer buffoons. god save the queen was respected in Croke Park, after all, a major major step, could you imagine that infront of a soccer crowd?! the dublin scumbags would wreck the place.

by Trogs, is that the Taffs you refer to? the Welsh were outstanding today, no doubt about that. id love to see warren gatland well and truly sickened in the semi's though, he is a gob piece.

felt awful for the older irish players, it was their last chance for a good world cup run, drico, o'gara, o'connell and afew others wont be around next time.

drico is the best rugby player to have ever set foot on a pitch and its sad to think hes in his final few international years.

a great debate is what is it that separates the northern hemisphere teams from southern hemisphere teams, and why the southers are so superior 90% of the time?

without joking and ribbing lets here some theories, it has always enthralled me as to why

Yep, def the active lifestyle as kids. Which sadly is ending. Used to see kids everywhere in the streets and parks. We also push each other. Especially NZ and AUS. Was just in a pub full of Aussies and kiwis watching both quarters. Fvck we gave it to each other. Next week will be the real final, should be a cracker.

We are more active because we can be due to better weather, so in Rugby you will see more passing and better back lines in the south, where as the northern game with the excpetion of the French play more in the forwards, teams try to maintain possession as much as they can.... we aim to kick the ball much sooner and gain the territory by then trying to steal the ball at the breakdown or at a line-out.

thats a theory ive juggled around before aswell but you have to rem that ireland had the best rated back line in the world 4-5yrs ago and it def wasnt down to the weather lol. obviously the size of a country matters but then if one looks at new zealand that theory gets blown out of the water.

i think its hard to get a definitive answer and its infuriating lol

im actually predicting the Oz for the win, i very much doubt Wales will beat France and there is alot of pressure on New Zealand and we know what happens to 'em from history when that is the case, Carter being out is a big loss plus two other injuries to their squad and that kid O'Connor has been phenomenal in keeping the score board ticking over. and if its a France v Oz final, sorry but le frogs will fall i reckon.
