Like Rammestein huh? not a big fan but I've heard them described as the Metallica of Germany. Also I've heard their live shows are crazy cool with pyrotechnics.

    Little disappointed man

2nd 1/2 of the album is better but much more of a softer sound. I'll be sticking with the older stuff. I heard the softness coming a bit with the last one, but this one is a bit too soft and not stoney enough. Dammit.

Sweet. I have some of the older stuff and listen to them off and on.

Got stuck on Meshuggah's Rare Trax CD yesterday, may USD it again tonight at lifting time.

Heard a band the other day and thought of you - Katatonia. Wish I could remember the name of the song, maybe Serien, but check em out and see if you like them. They sounded really good. Heard of them before but never listened.

Just really disappointed with Paradise Lost's new one

The new Gojira, on the other hand, is fantastic AND.... just saw they're coming to town in September!!

Gojira hosted liquid metal today - heard a few songs, they're growing on me.

Deftones @ the gym - regrettably, not liking their new stuff too much, sticking with the oldies.

Grazie! Will defo look into the first band and the new Gojira.

Edit: Have checked out the Gojira Magma album and am buying it in MP3 and probably will order the CD. Love the out of focus look in this video. Fits the song perfectly.

A couple of songs by Menhir, a pagan-metal band from Germany:

Quite possibly. I listened to Serein and am checking out a few more of their videos. Defo a potential purchase.

Hey guys - lots of good material in this thread, but im at a bit of a loss with my collection.

I want something angry/emotional (Think: Staind and Mud Vayne)

Loud, Heavy, Angry, Emotional, Loud... Staind, the lyrics here just hit the spot, Aaron Lewis is unbeatable here I think! Mud Vayne are just the right sort of sound, heavy but not death metal noisy. If you're getting my drift. I find the angrier and more emotional the music, the better I can channel my rage in a lift.

Great example of a song: Slit Wrist Theory - 36 Crazy Fists

Whats the first band/Album thats comes to mind please!

krugerr my man. I think I have an idea what you're looking for. I'm going to give you some melodic metal here and maybe a little less metal, but more hard rock genre... Check you guys out and let me know if this is in your wheelhouse:

    Tremonti
    Flyleaf
Hellyeah (chad gray is the lead singer, same dude as Mudvayne)
    From ashes to new
    Papa roach
    Bullet for my Valentine
    Atreyu
Stone sour (One of my favorites, Corey Taylor from slipknot is the lead singer)
    Pop evil
Demon Hunter (Love these guys, they're incredibly versatile and have beautiful melodic slow tunes as well as rip your face off metal jams)
    Asking Alexandria
    Of mice and men
    Breaking Benjamin
    All that remains
    We are harlot
    Nonpoint
    Evans blue
    Thousand foot crutch
    seasons after
    Aranda
    My darkest days
    Sleepwave
    Shamans harvest

Try these vans on for size and let me know if you want more or if this is not what you're looking for.

Kicking off the day with some evil Slayer, about to take the kids to the airport and then off to WV USA for some adventures with some buddies.

There's over 40 counties I believe under a state of emergency from flooding but I think the worst is over and we'll be in the northeast part of the state and I believe the majority of the flooding is central and southern. Really sad over 20 deaths so far.

These people are clearly deaf that album fcking smashes thrashes and just batters your ears from the outset. Its fcking amazing.

Its like some of the lads I know who refuse to listen to anything that Obituary releases after the end complete because after that they got too mainstream. I think their issue with these new albums is that people discover the band for the first time and it pisses off the die hards so they just shit on everything after that successful album to be you know "cool" and "you werent there from the start man you know shit.about the band" which royally pisses me off.

Some more Slayer in the gym today all their old stuff was great.

Have a great trip igi be safe ye are having some mad weather in the US at the mo

You're right man a lot of people don't want to accept the evolution of bands and, although I don't like everything new every band puts out, I try to be open minded and not automatically bash it just because it's new. There's a lot of great new stuff that older bands out out. The new Machine Head, for instance, I don't care for, but I don't bash people who like it.

Definitely will be safe brutha DCI thanks man. My daughter already made me promise to go the other way if we encounter any flooding and not to go through it. I'm at the airport with them now waiting for them to board the plane. They're going to Tampa, FL for a vacation.

I hear Black Sabbath at the airport in the background. Haha

Thats the problem with people now. They either say nothing or are complete arses for no apparent reason other than just to be an arse

Ahh theyll have a ball down in FL man was here a long time ago great place.

Quality black sabbath in the airport is always welcome.
