The forums speed and performance????? (Please comment)

I am VERY interested on how well the forum runs for everyone in terms of "Speed" or "Lag"

Do you have any issues with the speed or the site locking up?

Oftentimes I will click something and it will take 10 - 30 seconds for the page to come up. It can take as long when I click the "post" button on a reply.

Sometimes I cannot quote posts. Other times it locks me out "server busy".

We are on top of this and we will FIX it... OR i will buy enough servers to make this place FAST and not have slow speeds. Nothing is more frustrating... Its like waiting for dial up back in the day! Booooo! We are on it.

Ive had my first post today declined because it needs to be checked by a moderator, no idea what has happened to it.....

Yesterday i kept getting the message that the server was down so for the most part i wasnt able to log in and today its very slow...

Ever since I joined it has been slow as dial up for me. I just figured the site was like this. And every time there was an upgrade I was hoping it would improve. And since it never did for me I just assumed the site was slow regardless and just simply got used to it.

What happens to me is this. It takes forever on the "New Post." It takes forever when switching from one forum to the other. It can take forever to edit as it keeps telling me to be patient. It locks up on me especially with a thread that has tons of photos which I have learned to save for last since more than likely I will get kicked off. Many times it is faster for me if I don't log in so I simply read what I want to read without logging in.

I would love it to be faster! THANKS!

And I am wondering if it has anything to do with Mac versus a PC. Just wondering since I use Safari and wonder if there is a common thread here for the other members who are also using Safari.

Ill agree that when you click to open something it can take a while to open, especially here lately, like 10-30 seconds like stated above.

Through the years it has been up and down. Sometimes fast and sometimes slow. Early mornings it is locked up quite often... always figured it was the maintenance.

I sometimes get the "please wait for your post to be approved by a Moderator" as well. I have been in the last hour, mostly in the lounge, but also in the PCT Forum.

I've only been back half an hour but it seems like there is a delay. You'll be typing and it might take 20 seconds to process in the reply box. No big deal though this place is a worth a tiny miniscule delay.

Yeah I notice the site being very slow, sometimes after I post it shuts down on me or search taking 25-30 sec. Sometimes I don't bother posting because I know I will have to wait for it to post, then load new page.


On another note, I didn't get to post it in the other suggestions thread because it shut down, but you were after ideas on getting people to sign up. How about a tracking function where people can log on and enter measurements/weight to track progress, or a diet planner. Don't know if it can be done or not?

Not sure if this is relevant or can be fixed, but I spend quite a bit of time on the site via the Android app and lately it has been extra slow and often fails to load, I have to exit the app and re-open before I can view or post. As far as the .com site, its been a bit slow at times but no complaints.

system, for me, was running pretty rough early summer. Late summer i saw nice improvements. And then, just in the last week, I've seen issues such as page not fully loading, page not loading due to timing out, and delays in general.....

Has been locking up and/or lagging for several months now... and it happens (to me) several times daily. It gets frustrating to the point that I often give up and walk away.

I'm not sure what changed, but I had never experienced any of these problems in the past, site was always fast and 'clean'.

PS - it would be nice to get rid of that annoying pop up banner too... kills me when I login from my iPhone!!!
