    carpal tunnel syndrom

just wondering if any of you have carpal tunnel syndrom? How does it affect your workouts/daily life? I currently am a union ironworker and think I may have just develpoed carpal tunnel. Anyone have arthritis? I will be seeing the doctor soon but some say it could be this as well. I hope my days aren;t numbered in the gym!

    Thanks guys!

I've had CTS before. Like most, was due to job related. after i quit the job, took half a dozen years or so for the symptoms to diminish. I no longer have it.

The good news about arthritas, is that it is JUST PAIN. I have it in my back. Knowing that the pain is arthritas instead of a slipped disk or something alows me to push ahead when working out. I can deal with pain, just didn't want to do more damage.

Do you have large forearms? The median Nerve passes through your pronator teres may be compressing it no the carpal tunnel

Esp being an iron worker, now i dont know what you do but id imagine its very labor intensive and you have to have a strong grip. If you do alot of pronating action with your wrists that muscle can get larger and show symptoms very similar to carpal tunnel.

no wrist problems but my right shoulder suffers from years of mouse use (holding arm up instead of resting arm while using mouse)
