Jeepers or Offroaders
Anybody out there do any offroading? If so what are you driving? What kind of mods have you made? Lifts...straight SOA conversion or full suspension lift? Wheels, tires? Tranny mods? Transfer cases? I still have not put any time or $$$ into my stock 89YJ but have been doing some research. It will be a drawn out, peacemeal modification but my goal is to go from this....

Looks good, I am not into offroading but I have taken my SUV offroad (and beat the shit out of it) when I have had the chance. It is leased so why not. hahaha.

I used to own a YJ and I put a 3" superlift under it. I wanted to do the coil suspension conversion but I got rid of it before I did it. I now have a 98 Grand Cherokee that will be retired by my wife hopefully shortly and I am thinking of putting money into it. I love jeeps!

'86 Bronco II four wheeler here
It's a REAL offroader... no cute mods, no cute anything, beat to hell, rusted, cracked windshield, front bumper replaced with 2 big steel tubes welded straight on the frame, big winch on there, A/C compressor replaced by a 2nd alternator for the winch, no license plate
Any time something breaks, I use my MIG welder to "fix" it
I only use it offroad, it's main use is to pull a trailer full of wood, secondary use is to go up to fishing and hunting spots in the middle of nowhere up here where there may be an old logging road if you're lucky.

Harl...now that's what I'm talking about!! Red, up in the Great White North we can really put those off roaders to their limits...half the time our friggin highways require addition suspension and performance tires!!
I'll probably start with a SOA conversion and a 1" body lift (strictly for financial reasons). I bought it with 31" all terrains so the additional clearance should allow some basic off roading. Eventually I will add a 3" "Superlift", "Skyjacker" or "Rubicon Express" full suspension lift.

I dont to much money invested at all.
jeep $500
lift $450
tires $500
lockers $500
Those three things is all you really need to do some serious wheeling.

Unfortunately, we don't have much sand in this part of canada, so I've never got to take it wheeling on some sand dunes or anything like that. May have to make a special trip down to Nevada!

Just bought one of these, no plans to off road yet but toyota says the new 4runner is now their top off road performer. Better than landcruiser for the first time.
