Lest we forget
For all those poor souls that died during World War I.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.
"For Australia, as for many nations, the First World War remains the most costly conflict in terms of deaths and casualties. From a population of fewer than five million, 416,809 men enlisted, of which over 60,000 were killed and 156,000 wounded, gassed, or taken prisoner"
I think that per population, that is the largest lost in WW1. Sad

I think today is a day to remember every soldier from every nation that has died in all large scale conflicts.
RIP.

I agree.
Realist: A person who sees things as they truly are. A practical person. The pessimist complains about the wind; The optimist expects it to change; The realist adjusts the sails. — William Arthur Ward

No.... and all the hippies left years ago.
It's sad, but as the poppy capital of the world (think heroin), I see guys crashed out on the side walk all the time as I leave the confines of the compound. Still alot of junkies over here. And they are dirty, filthy, laying in the mud, sleeping on the sidewalk in the middle of the day..... and then when they sober up a little, they are out there in the streets with their hands out begging.......

My sincerest thanks to all veterans , the one who survived and the ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice. My thanks also to all active military. You do not know me nor my family - yet you would give up your life to pretect us. Anyone willing to die to protect my family, my country, and my freedom has my eternal gratitude. Thank You!!!
