    Old school question.

So how did some of you learn about gear before the internet?

I can remember going to the only powerlifting gym in my town and this old guy, huge not cut, would put up massive amounts of weight and in between sets he'd drink a beer. He said he needed the carbs. Who was I to wonder. I was 16-17 and this dude was HUGE. Now I'd be shaking my head if I say that and could site many online article to dispute his claim.

So how did you guys get good solid gym info before the innerwebs?

PCT? Whats that. Waiting until your mid 20's? How do I get my scholarship though. Looking back I got more bullsh!t info than legit stuff. I can remember doing lat pulls downs behind the neck and that came from a pro football strength coach.

I have an "old school" power lifter at my gym the guy is a bull! hes prob in his 40's or 50's and still wears the loose gym pants, and wofe beater style old school gym shirts lol

Anyway he told me when he started using all he did was dbol...cheap and worked like a charm and now he uses test and tbol...says he have never used anything eles.

He also told me he eats a bag of gummy worms post workout with a coke haha no lie! I told him he is crazy! but he said it never failed him....also eat fast food when he doesnt get enouph cals haha hes about 25 to 30% bf but the guy is strong as bull! uses horrible form! but Iv seen the guy throw up 5 plates on bench, dead lift well over 500lbs with ease and squat 4 plates, not bad for a 50 year old man.

got started off by an old school plifter. he despised AAS usage so they werent ever a factor for me until my early 30's. he advised me well on eating for strength but there was nothing fancy (alot of the weights were home made), it was just a fact of hit it hard and keep on trying to improve the big three. when it rained, it made for a wet gym, cant beat the old leaky corrugated iron roof lol

I got solid advice from some older powerlifters at the gym I went to. They taught me how to eat. I thought I was a hard gainer until they had me putting down 5000 calories a day. With their help I got up to squatting 405. I'll never forget how that felt.
