let me add a caveat to my above statement. I have absolutely no plans on getting myself to competition level, and we all have different goals. At my level, I allow myself to cheat once in a while, but i only drink a small handful of times a year. And yeah, the next day, I did kinda skip my cardio day, but today I was Good to go and hit the gym for over an hour

If you do not have a cheat meal at least once a week you will go insane. At least I know I do.

shit stpete eats that for breakfast every day...if you add grape jelly and butter mixed together on the toast that is !

You have to look at it like your only one meal away from being back on track and make sure you simply get right back on track..thats all. No more - no less.

hahaha...My man jimmy knows what's up! Listen guys, here's the deal. First, be honest to yourself! If you know that you're never going to get in a thong and try to compete, why limit yourself? As we all know, diet is key to everything! I prefer to keep carbs high and protein @ at least 250 per day. Yes, some of them come from Burger King and Skyline Chili, but it works pretty good as i work like a bitch in the gym! I just like working out and getting strong. I refuse to work out like a mad man and deny myself treats! And it works both ways...First, i know i'm going to eat like shit. More motivation for my next workout! And if i need to shed a few lbs, just leave out the french fries and increase cardio. It's really not that hard if you know your body and what it takes to cut/gain. I know it takes time...But once you figure it out, life's easy!
That being said, my wife went to Max and Erma's tonight w/the kids. She brought me a Garbage Burger w/ a bunch of fries!
I'll be eating that in just a few!
Eat guys! If not, your gains are minimal!

I dont get why that's a cheat or bad? It's not empty calories and can all be used by the body for building. It may not be the right combination of protein and carbs in the right order but that is not big deal once in a while or even all the time to most of us unless you are competing. As long as you are not drinking beer every night, eating chips, candy and other things with empty calories then it's all good as long as you are either building/bulking or not taking in more than you should.

i agree with you to an extent, and i doubt ill ever compete either but at moment im trying to drop b/f so that in future i can eat more liberal like you said above and still maintain low-ish bodyfat at same time. . .im hoping this will be only major ''cut'' i have to do for long time and then regular cardio decent diet will keep b/f in check in future
