Craziest Thing Thats Happend To You At The Gym?

I'll start; so i was at the gym working my tri's. im on the pull down using an iron v-bar, mind u not much weight was on, anyway suddenly the bar snap,,,in half!! the weights go shooting down and SMASH crazy noise, everyone looks and im left with the broken bar in my hands.. some of the guys look at my like im the hulk and all i can think was "if that clip and knuckle on the line would have hit me in the chin i would be getting some serious work done on my face" so i go and give it to the girl at the desk and kept on with my routine.. needless to say it broke at the weld and must have been faulty, by no meens was it strength but i left with my chest a bit more puffed up as usual...

I saw somebody doing dumb bell presses on a fitness ball; he lost balance and rolled backwards. His head went through the dry wall.

Some of the machines in the old gym I went to the pads wouldn't lock in correctly for leg curls etc so you'd be half way through your set and boom it slams down.

I was in the NE primarily..opened 1in Fla for an emergency situation and 6 in pa/nj....
Made a pretty penny ...6 figures ...cant make that there now from what i hear....
Left there for golds because they (LA) had agreed to stop moving me and let me manage a gym 15 mins from my house - then they said i needed to do a presale/opening 2 hrs away- no ifs ands or buts- so i quit. Golds was much easier...about 15-20k less/year but much easier- cake hours....i went back to college while managing at golds and got a second degree...then i left the fitness business...

^^ Oxford Valley in langhonre and Neshaminy at the Neshaminy Mall (across from mall by target). I started at the OV location with them when it first opened! One of my friends manages OV right now. I occasionally hit up either one of thos elocations to work out from tim to time. Never saw KOP (didnt know they had TBH) and Never saw Toms river either.

Anyway quick story. Von Hebron , a pro football player playing for the Eagles comes in to the gym im managing. Asks for a tour etc...Im showing him aroiund and he is the beggest douche bag I have ever met. Cocky , arrogant , total jerk off to the point of I was womdering of someone was filming it because it was a joke he was being such an asshole. We get done and he says how much , even though you should pay me to come to your gym. I said it doesnt matter - we dont want your business. He gets pissed and pushes me on the shoulder and says imagine how bad it will look when he tells everyone not to join here etc...I said well im sure it wont look as bad as when its is the paper that you poushed a guy working at a gym and he knocked your teeth out. Now GTFO of here and dont touch me again. He Left. That was kinda crazy in a confrontatitonal way...have a bunch more...a few more confrontational ones and several funny ones. I chime in with a funny one later in thread.

Once I was ****ing around and decided to calves with 1200 lbs on the leg press machine. Anyway, I loaded up all the plates and started to do it, and the machine came off the ground and leaned forward! I nearly shit myself, come to my find out my gym only uses one bolt on each piece of equipment!

Not really crazy but funny.... at least to me.
I had been working out with a buddy for several years. Another friend of mine who was a couple of years older and had always been arrogant, pushy, trying to be the top dog decided to go work out with us once. He was a wrestler in school but had not been active in anything for a few years and not active in the gym at all.

My partner and I are doing dumbbell bench-press and he decides he is going to jump in. We are only doing 60 or 70s at the time but tell him he needs to warm up and get use to it. He had only ever done straight bar. He (being cocky) says no way, he can do it tries to do a set. After a LOT of forcing he gets them up about 3/4 of the way when one of his arms gives out and he beans himself on the forehead. I couldn't stop laughing for like 10 min. I guess I was not doing a very good job of spotting him.

Was doing decline bench on a smith machine that wasnt bolted to the ground.. Had 400lbs on and no plates were left on the racks of the machine.. So im into my 5th rep and all of a sudden the whole machine starts sliding forward, I though wtf and quickly hooked the bar.. i almost killed myself as I had no spotter.. So next time round I had a few guys stand in the legs so I could do a proper set :/

Ps I went off at the staff for not bolting their equipment down
