its a difficult question to answer, too many good songs. but i reckon Raining Blood or Angel of Death will be mentioned by alot. Reign In Blood was for def the benchmark album and will never be bettered, and it was my forst ever record at the tender age of 10, what an introduction to a music collection

(i'll leave glam out of this discussion) certainly the progenitors of metal (sabbath, maiden, purple) should have the honor of best metal song..and shouldn't satan be referenced in said song? therefore i nominate: number of the beast

If we are taking hairband metal then I would go with master of puppets by metallica if we are taking more modern metal it would be this is more by stick to your guns.
