Agreed. The episode I saw had a mother explaining to her 4 year old that her skin did not look good because she was pale. Shows like that remind me that america is a huge country with all sorts of crazy/stupid sub cultures.

Btw I watched a doc. that said those pageants are honey traps for pedophiles; and that the promoters regularly have to remove known pervs from the building.
