best way/place to buy a vehicle
1. What is the best METHOD of buying? (I.e. Dealership; buy outright from seller; online; find someone who has a license so u can pick one up from an auction)?
2. Where is the best PLACE to buy vehicles for the best deal? (City/State)
If it matters, I'm interested in pickup trucks......GM, 4x4, within a few years old, ext cab....just to give u an idea of what I'm after.

Stay away from the Stealerships.
If you dont know a lot about mechanics or specific cars it's always best to pay a mechanic to check it out when you find one you are really interested in buying.
Craigslist is usually the best due to they dont have to pay to advertise so you save a little more. Next would be Auto trader or even kelly blue book. When you are doing craiglsist alwasy uncheck the dealership when you do the search, search for owner only.

Thanks guys. Is there any way to buy vehicles at wholesale? How difficult is it to get a dealer's license and buy one at an auction or find someone who has a license to buy one for me for a small comission?

Not worth all the hassles involved unless you are going to be doing it quite a bit. If you want a GOOD deal then check out some of the local police/towing auctions.

Some auctions they do let you inspect and start the cars, just no test drive so again you have to know what you are looking at/for or take someone with you who does.
Sounds like he is looking for the cheapest route so there is always some risk. Even with a dealer there is still risk it's buyer beware but it's not as final as if you buy it from an auction or individual and typically the dealer goes through it pretty good and at least does a 1/2 a$$ job of detailing it.
