Got to Google and STOP PIPA (Senate 968) & SOPA (HR 3261)
Let all make it a point today to go to google and sign that petition in hopes our states legislature does not jump on the band wagon and approve this garbage. Only takes your name, email, and zip code. This is seriously going to effect the way we use our internet. I dont know what I would do without craigslist ....$hit

Realist: A person who sees things as they truly are. A practical person. The pessimist complains about the wind; The optimist expects it to change; The realist adjusts the sails. — William Arthur Ward

If you have any domains with companies that support this bullshit - move them.
GoDaddy.com is in support of this shit.
Companies like namecheap.com are actively against it.

I'm astounded and almost outraged that U.S. Congress want to seriously consider controlling the internet and telling people what they can and cant access. When the Hell did you guys turn into China?
Just went to Wikipedia and got this:
Imagine a World
Without Free Knowledge
For over a decade, we have spent millions of hours building the largest encyclopedia in human history. Right now, the U.S. Congress is considering legislation that could fatally damage the free and open Internet. For 24 hours, to raise awareness, we are blacking out Wikipedia.

If these pass it will be one more example of the failure of our government to legislate based on the will of the people.
Far from new ...but scarier and scarier every time it occurs....

They said they are not going to make any changes to the law as of yet. So no re-writes if it does not pass but again thats just what i have been reading. Lets keep this going. Now I think google took down their way of voting like it was yesterday so now today you can log onto CRAIGSLIST and do it a differant way

They're just trying to get re-elected. A few months down the road or next year, similar bills are going to be re-introduced and these same congressmen are going to vote for it. Eventually, some incarnation will pass. The only way we can make real change is to hit the companies that support this type of legislation with organized boycotts.

wow great link.. i honestly dont think this is going to pass. I meen to me it almost sounds like career suicide. That is why it took this long for pot to become legal in certain states because most believed it would be career suicide to back a bill that says you are now able to smoke pot if you are sick. Now a days, it has become a some what social norm to know that a great percentage of people do in fact smoke pot and it not all bad. But i think this crosses the line IMO. What do you think would happen to a congressman's or senators career if they in fact support this? Do you think it would stain it somewhat?

Latest word on the nightly news is that they are all backing off on this now and will let it die and not pursue it especially in an election year with so many people chiming in against it so it scared them and they are letting it die a quiet death....
