For the past two nights, I’ve been able to defeat the dreaded “night sweats”.
Ordinarily, when it is cold outside, back home, I’d have the ceiling fan on, and then a sheet over me to hold in some body heat.
But here, no overhead fan. And no top sheet. I have a bulky comforter, so when I strip down to go to bed, I just throw the comforter over the top of me.
Problem is, I wake up in a puddle a few hours later…. Not pleasant!
For the last two nights, I’ve reversed my strategy. Instead of stripping down, I put my Raider jammies on, some socks, and my Raider hoodie sweatshirt on. I also turn the heater up a tad to eliminate the temptation of throwing covers on top of me in the middle of the night. Then, I just throw my Raider blanket over me. It’s not thick, and has good aeration. And I fall asleep that way, on top of the bed. I think this works because with the comforter, warm air gets trapped and builds up heat. By sleeping on top of the bed the way I do, I get much better air circulation.
So far, so good. You might want to consider If you are in a similar situation.
I just want to point out though, this technique only works with Bona Fide NFL Raider Gear…. Accept no substitutes!! =)
