Workout Music
some people underestimate the effect having music will do upon their weightlifting or athletic importance. Therefore, my hope is to create this thread to help people develop top notch training playlists. There is so many songs and tunes out there which we are missing out on and most of these commercial best workout music ever compilations will never cut it as they are not broad or eclectic enough to cover all bases.
There is no doubt about the positive and negative effects which music can have upon ourselfs. They are a superb stimuli and catalyst to our training intensity. just think about the role music plays upon your life. individual songs are very powerful, they can take you away and lose yourself, they can attach to memories or periods of your life - taking you back or reminding you of people, places or instances when you least expect it. It is scientifically proven that classical music triggers parts of the brain which improves academic attainment for children. it is scientifically proven that music styles can affect individuals driving style. then why is music not utilized efficiently and correctly for training purposes? there are certain songs that if you hear you will get a slight boost in intensity mid set or when your pace is starting to lag whilst running or during a sparring session it can give you a second burst of energy.
hopefully people will participate :-)
i will start off by letting go of some of my personal pieces of nitrous oxide ....
most songs from any of the rocky films,
rage against the machine (most songs)
infinity
most prodigy songs

I don't bring an walkman or an ipod to the gym, so I sort of have to just listen to whatever top 40 crap they're playing in there.

Thanks for noticing bro!! Been spending a lot more time off the board, family life, new kid, etc. I'm here, just not as often!
I know what you mean... they're so intricate and lush... but for some reason that also helps me to focus on my workout believe it or not... of course, the heavy parts are easier to workout to than the soft acoustic stuff (which is what I like best about them, lifting aside).
You into any other bands like this HK? I often hear Opeth being compared to the Italian band Novembre, but tbh I don't hear much resemblance and don't care for much of what I've heard of Novembre. How about Trivium?

The stuff they play in the gym does suck pretty bad. Very happy I have an MP3 player for my own music. Although one time I tried to mix things up and listened to an audio book. Made it like 10 minutes before I felt like I was gonna fall asleep standing on my feet. Definatley not one of my brightest ideas.
