it has nothing to do with post count. its up to admin to decide on each person individually for those titles.

As others have said...it has nothing to do with post counts. Tall76 only had like 170 posts when he got "knowledgeable member". So either be productive or know your shit and you'll change color.

You could also have a sex change. After DSM gives you your physical to make sure....you'll be turned pink!!!

It's actually not about popularity at all..... as I can assure you plenty of thought goes into every single promotion made. Not all staff agree on everything but thats part of what makes this site great. Being "mean" to people wont get you promoted simply because when you are promoted to ANY level..... you inherantly represent the board in one way or another. Obviously more so when you become staff.....

Lets just say you are being mean to members and we promote you to knowledgable..... then a new guy see's your title. You may potentially run them off the board if they think the board supports that kind of response. There are people who read the forums who never sign up because they don't like the way some members talk to new guys.

A good way to get promoted is to conduct yourself in a proper manner and show that you know what you're talking about and not parrot information over and over.

Good post Haz. There have been a few members that have proven themselves knowledgeable but it would reflect badly on the board with the way they treat new members to promote them to a higher status.
