This guy comes up to me in the gym and...
he says..."your arms are bigger than last year, nice one."
i say thanks
he says "mine wont grow, im trying everything, what you doing different now?"
i say "nothing really same old stuff, what you doing?"
he says (after deep breath) "curls, standing & seated, preacher and cable. overhead extension and rope presses for tris." (saying it was a great one from flex mag)...
i said "do you think you do enough for arms?" /sarc
he says "well they get a workout on back & chest day too, so i dont want to do to much for them" ???? ( read it in flex )
he asks again what i do for arms so i tell him. Nothing directly. he laughs, i look sad. i tell him i only do compound exercises and pull/push ups. by then hes walking away laughing.
I laugh to myself and push through more squats.
had to share that.

Theres definitely something about the compound olympic lifts that will make you look beast. No amount of pansy curls will match a good deadlift session.
Having figured that out, Im going to drive to the farther gym today that actually has free weight barbells (current gym only has smith..yes..sad..)

For deadlifts should I be switching my hands? User the under hand for over I mean and vice versa

Yeah use a mixed grip like you describe. Change the mix every set. i.e. one hand under one over, then switch on the next set

i use alternate grip and swap each set. I can hold the weight better for longer this way. I am 6' with long arms, dont know if that makes a difference though.

I feel for him, my arms dont grow well. Delts, pecs and traps just swell up on me and it looks stupid with 18" arms
