Gonna get a GSXR
So its time to buy another bike. I have never owned anything but Susuki and GSXR's are the best, IMO
I owned a 600,750 and 1000, but been out of the riding scene for almost 5 years now
Anyone have any input. The last two bikes I owned was the 750 and 1000
I am tempted to buy another 1000, but my brother says these newer 600's are plenty and more fun
I am going to use the bike basically to go see my gf and back cause she lives about an hour away
And want to have more fun on the drive than just sitting in the truck..

I road a 2010 gixxer 600. One night I was cruising down the highway and I looked in my mirrors and saw cop cars with their lights on as far back as I could see. I thought " shit I better get out of the way, someone ****ed up bad". I pulled over the first few cars passed and slammed on their break. Guns drawn, handcuffed, thrown in the back of the police cruiser and driven to the station. Apparently I failed to signal making a turn out of my apt building so a cop tried to ticket me. I had my headphones on and didnt notice as I continued onward for the next 5 miles. They hammered me with every ticket in the book. Doubled everyone because when I finally stopped it was in the beginning of a road construction zone. They took my bike, impounded it at $120 a day, and refused to sign off on it for 3 weeks. Total of all tickets and impound was $5,000. The cop failed to show for court, instead of throwing it out the judge ordered a continuance. I showed up again for court and the cop didnt show again. Judge said "2nd times a charm see you next time".

the new 600's have alot more power then they used too.
I wouldnt say they are more fun. If yuor just using it for commuting a 600 is enough. It would be cheaper to buy and insureIf people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

Its really a matter of what you prefer and the intended usage. Sure a 600 has a lot more tractable power than they did just a few years ago and will be easier to throw around in traffic. By the same token you can get into some dumb ass situations throwing a 600 around and there is really nothing quite like the feel of a liter bike either working trough the gears or powering out of a curve with the frnt starting to lift and the rear starting to slide.
Agreed completely on the insurance and price deal, as for model year, newer is always better, they learn things on the track and develop new materials and manufacturing techniques that allow smaller compact pwr units as well as always decreasing the rotational center of mass etc. And on a 600 although the peak HP and TRQ numbers may be close, the advances in power usability will be HUUGGEE.

I felt the same way when I had my 1000..I sold it and kept the 750..then eventually got rid of that too.
Weird ting about bikes, no one seems to keep them long

ive had a few bikes. 600s and 1000s
yeah everyone says 1000cc but ffs u cant use it at all the power is to much.
the 600s are the best i think. cause u need to rev em a little more. and u can play in the corners more.
600s are so much more fun. cant go past em.

I had a 1000 for about a year - I had a great time on it and always enjoyed flying through traffic plus being able to leave most other bikes for dead.
I've been looking at a Motard tbh - the riding style is a bit more fun and you can eat crap and not worry too much about it costing a fortune to repair.
+1 to another GSX 1k.
