    Handheld Fat loss monitors?

How accurate do you think these hand help monitors are that tell you your BMI and fat %. Its suppose to measure like current thro your body and give you an accurate reading but i dont really know how accurate it is. I own an OMRON HBF-306CN anyone familiar with it. I mean im not looking for pin point accuracy but how close is it or what does it base its numbers on. I mean im 5'8" weigh 214 and still working on my body but im not in super horrible shape (i need work and need to lean up!!) but when i think obese i think eddie murphy in nutty professor and this thing says i'm obese (LOLOL) cuz my BMI is 32.7 How does this contraption know how my body is framed?

I was told by a trainer that they are accurate within 3%. Ive tried a few of them and think they are junk. One of them said I had 18 percent body fat... I cut down 10 lbs ( on cycle). When I check after my cut it said 18%. Another one told me 4 different percentages in one sitting.

They are terrible for the most part! Use calipers if you want to know your body fat, and BMI is out dated and un accurate as well...Im 9% BF and my BM would say I was over weight?

They basically measure hydration more than anything. I have one built into my scale. It basically over time went from saying 20% down to 18% bf from me dropping17 lbs, and after i started eating normal again and body was full of carbs and gained a few lbs I was right back up at 20% body fat, that is after starting trt too, so maybe trt just made me fat? or the thing is way off. All the real experts I know say they are garbage.
