405lb Incline Press For 15 Reps!!!

first two videos were taken last night, the 500lb video was taken during last weeks chest workout. And about a year and a half ago someone posted a thread about how many reps you could do with 225lb on the bench, I replied and said my training partner could do 315lb on the incline for 50 reps, everyone called BS, well this is him, and i promise you he can.

wow. Dude is strong. He really had complete control of the weight and looked like he had more in the tank. What is his flat bench max?

He's done a 600lb flat bench in a power meet a couple years ago. We havent been training flat bench much lately though, He's working on a 600lb incline bench right now.

Actually he said he was always a smaller guy, he showed me pictures, he graduated high school at like 140lbs but has always been feakishly strong, putting up 315 at like 160lbs. After he hits his 600lb incline press he wants to diet and get back on the bodybuiling stage, thats what he started out doing and only started powerlifting to put on more size but ended up sticking with powerlifting for a long ass time because of his strength.

Doesn't matter, its simple biomechanics...The shorter distance the weight has to move the light the over all load and the less maximal strength that has to used in order to lift the weight from point A to point B. Also 140lbs is about normal for someone who is 5"7...that would be equivalent to someone being 6 foot 180lbs. Im not taking anything away from the guy! that weight he is lifting is very impressive!!!! but to say his body type is not meant for to lift is just silly Imo. Its the same reason you rarely see a guy who 6"5 breaking world strength records.

Most guys who have long arms usually find bench press to be a weak movement....doesn't mean they are weak it just means they have to move the weight farther so although they are not using as much weight as a shorter person the their relative strength is the same. Its also one of the reason I find the NFL combined 225lb bench test ridiculous because If you have an Offensive line men with are long wing span (which is what most team look for) he is going to usually do less reps....then they dog on the guy when he only does 25 reps lol stupid!

No matter how he was built or what the details are he is putting up an extreme amount of weight. 99.9% of the population cannot put that kind of weight up so its pretty impressive

    Impressive.

I once trained with a friend who could do inclines with 160 lb dumb-bells. I would hand the dumb-bells to him and place them on his knees---he would then hoist them up to his chest and bang out 6-10 reps. Fckin guy weighed 275lbs...all muscle at 6.4.

Yep...some guys were born to push heavy weight.

Impressive weight but I agree, I would not want to look like that (big gut) even if I could bench 2x as much.
