    Comedians

Who do you guys like or not like in comedy? I would like an open dialogue. Obviously people don't usually talk about who they DONT like but I am going to bring it up. Some of this is just straight up hating and some of this I just needed to get off my chest.

I think Jim Carrey is one of the best overall comedians alive at this time. Adam Sandler has had many good moments but he has become so overcommercialized and his movies follow the same shit plots every time. Katt Williams is ****in hilarious. So is Dave Attell. Dave Chapelle is very funny. If he has one drawback I would say his comedy has at times hinged on the black/white dynamic too much. Lets say to his credit he dances around the line but has never really gone off the deep end. While at one time I found Chris Rock to be creative and funny, it doesn't seem like he can tell a single joke that doesn't have something to do with someone being black or someone being white. Its old and tired. Chris if you are are reading this, hang it up, you're like really bad roast beef curtains. Eddie Murphy is a genius if you review his standup and ignore some of his bombs in the cinema. George Carlins comedy hinges on bitching the whole time and I have found him and Andy Kauffman to be the biggest bandwagon comedians. People seem to get on board behind them because they feel like they should. They are both dead so I will leave it at that so as not to speak ill of the dead but just my opinion I never found them to be the geniuses they were touted to be. Jerry Seinfeld is probably the most annoying comedian on the planet. I will defer that maybe I am not the target demographic for his comedy and maybe he is reaching out to the middle aged and family people, so much like I would not enjoy a miley cyrus cd with no nude pictures in the album insert I do not enjoy his comedy. Daniel Tosh is the funniest comedian I have seen since Dane Cook got too big to the point people were sick of him. I suspect he is gay or bi and while I have no issue with that it seems ***** ish to not come out. Zach Galifianakis is a modern genius. Maybe his routine is only possible because of Andy Kaufman and I should give Andy more credit as Zach seems enigmatic much like they describe Andy. Joe Rogan is hated by half the board for some reason but I still find him funny, he just seems like a good mix of ass hole and tenacity. Bill Hicks you were very creative and original in your time. I wonder if you had known your comedy was going to spawn an army of weed smoking "there is no point to life" losers if maybe you would have thrown some inspirational shit in there. Richard Pryor is a genius. Jamie Foxx you are very talented. Dennis Miller is alright and shows a lot of intelligence in his comedy. Tracy Morgan sounds dumb even when hes not doing a character. Jon Stewart while you have some creative insights I don't think Ive ever laughed at a joke you made. David Spade youre alright.. except for that fallen star diss on Eddie Murphy. Robin Williams is a genius. Chris Farley is a genius.

Of the one u mentioned, I rate Jim Carrey #1. U didnīt mention Ben Stiller, but heīs right up there with Jim.

However which one of all comedians you think can fill Madison Square Garden, taking the stage like a rockstar?....Andrew Dice Clay is in a league of his own. Not saying he could do the same today. His comedy probably had itīs right place in time.

And letīs not forget the legend, John Cleese.

And of the ones you mentioned I hate Jim Carrey, maybe I may be the only one but I dont find him remotely hillarious, He is a good actor in drama roles but his comedy just revolves around making dum faces which irritates the hell out of me and seems to insult my intelligence - should i find this funny? Maybe funny for a 2 year old...SOmetimes dum jokes are great but his is just dum to the point of not being funny...

Movies: Ben Stiller, Standup: Russel Peters, Chris Rock

This Denis Leary bit is probably one of the funniest clips ever and anybody who drinks coffee would relate to it:

Jim Carey? I guess he's funny if you're 5 years old!

    Worthy mentions include:

    Denis Leary
    Stephen Fry
    Ricky Gervais
    Chris Rock
    George Carlin

As you'll notice these are comedians that not only tackle controversal subjects but they are also very intelligent. I'm loath to say Bill Hicks cause just about every hipster dickhead on the planet mentions him now.

    Other worthy mentions include:

    Steve Carrell
    John Candy
    Jimmy Carr
    Larry David
    Laurel and Hardy
    Harry Hill
    John Cleese
    Simon Pegg
    Nick Frost

I'd also like to say that British comedy is the most superior comedy on the planet!
