I don't have a god complex. I am God.
-
04-08-2012, 07:19 PM #12I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.
I gave in, and admitted that God was God.

Yes I do and I think most people want to believe there is something out there greater than them self even if there is not....I mean every one wants a reason to live, a reason to get up each morning and I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
I have faith that there is a god because this world is to complex for there not to be but again that my opinion I wont push it on anyone...any time I have turned my back on faith I have noticed my life falls apart and things dont make as much sens.

I believe in right and wrong and that there is more to life than just doing whatever makes you happy with total disregard to its effect on others. I would also like to think that the spirit or whatever you want to call it exist serperatly from our physical being, that said I sure don't believe that any organized religion or God in the conventional sense. That is I sure don't think that God would reward you for belief in one religion and condemn you for belief in another, it really amazes me that the con game that is most modern religious organizations, still has so many who follow it blindly and worse yet. That it has caused so many others to abandon a sense of spirituality and conciousness and let greed and lust rule ones lives instead.
Did I really just say that on an open internet forum ;-0

Yeah I don't know if I buy into that being God but I would certainly worship it for a while...till I went all heathen and impaled it.

No I don't believe for reasons i've stated about a thousand times on this forum.
If there ever was a God, He's long since forgotten about us and what does that tell you? What parent would stand by and watch His children brain each other? How's that for the free-will counter argument?

Yes, I do believe in God, but I don't follow any specific religion. I think many people need religion in this world to help them them through tough times and keep them on track and it's a great thing for those people. At the same time, I feel that religion is also responsible for many tragedies throughout history. It's a double edged sword. Just my opinion.

Depends what religion you are but in christianity god never said it would be easy and life would be fun all the time, god tested to see if we will keep faith, and satan deceives and ruins lives in order to make people turn their back on god and say he does not exists. In the christian faith we believe that life is about being a servant to god and if we do that and we repent our sins we will go to heaven and live for eternity in happiness...a lot of people forget that life is not about having lots of money and being happy all the time, god doesn't want that for us those are things that we want...gods ultimate goal is heaven. People always say "why would god let people suffer"...but god doesn't let people suffer he have a plan for everyone and if you follow god plan you will spend eternity in a beautiful place (heaven). This is what I believe but again I'm not going to force my opinion on anyone who is not willing to accept it....its waste of time and there is no point.

So in other words, if I was in a steel bunker and there was a raging bushfire and there was a man outside begging to come in, rather than let him come in and get safety and salvation, im allowed to judge him and say "well you didn't agree with my opinion last week so I guess you're toast" and I can close the door, because that is what you're saying Heaven is.
Obey God or burn.

Worrying about if God is real or not really is pointless. The promise of a future life is irrelevant when you have this current one to live first.

Everyone is capable of good and everyone is capable of evil.
Either way these people have some type of belief that influences their decisions.

Been pronounced dead a couple times........
I believe but to put it best ill gladly take a quote the cartoon futurama
God Entity: Bender, being God isn't easy. If you do too much, people get dependent on you. And if you do nothing, they lose hope. You have to use a light touch, like a safecracker or a pickpocket.
Bender: Or a guy who burns down a bar for the insurance money.
God Entity: Yes, if you make it look like an electrical thing. When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Well not quite but god doesn't just ignore us and then let us burn instead he allows us to sin, he gives us unlimited and unconditional love, he allows us to make mistakes and still ask for forgiveness...all sins will be forgiven if you ask and truly mean it! so yes you could say "he just leaves people to burn" but he gave everyone an equal chances and if some people decide to turn their backs on him than no he wont save you in the end....imagine you slap someone in the face, you rob them and lie to them and they say to you "its ok I forgive you" then you beat up the guys brother, steal from him again and have sex with his wife, and he says to you "ask me for forgiveness and its your, I will forgive you" and still you turn your back and continue to treat him like crap....on the last day of your life, on your death bed he say's to you "I will still forgive you just ask" and you spit in his face...after you die you find out there is a haven and the man that you abused ends up being god, he says to you "you treated me like crap all your life and turned your back on me...you still think I should allow you into heaven?" what do you think he will say? See in the bible god talks about how if you sin or treat someone poorly you might as well be treating him the same....so no you don't have to agree with what I believe but its something to think about.

That's just it, he doesnt let you sin because at the end of the day he wants you to get on your knees for him.
I mean we're born with sin right? How messed up is that? So if you're born, and die 5 days later, you have no concept of forgiveness, so you're doomed to Hell.
See what you said. If I turn my back on him, I mean that is so messed up on so many levels. In your words, God is the biggest attention seeker in existence. What about the indigenous people of Papau New Guinea or these tribes that live in South America that have never heard of God. Are you telling me they will go straight to Hell? The crime of ignorance. It never ceases to amaze me when people start going off like this, it's like they're hypnotized.

Not exactly in the bible it states that if you have no knowledge of god then you wont be judged in the same way. Those who know the gospel, study it, and teach it will be under stricter judgment, since they have the ability of guide others, or lead them astray. Those who have never heard of God will be judged on how they lived their life but it does state that those people will be "given a break" simply put. In the same way, those who play the "religion game" of going to church on Sunday, but living apart from a relationship with God, will be condemned. There are a lot of people who go to church on sunday and by monday they are cheating on their wife.
