    stupid parents

So I've spent the past 5 days trying to convince my parents to send me to a trainer who I've been told by numerous people including an old football coach, can help me with my knock knees but there incredibly stupid and ignore anything I say. The first tiem I told them my dad literally thought it was a joke ad said everyone knees are crooked thats normal and then we ended up arguing , the 2nd time I showed him a picture of knock knees that looked similar to mine and a medical artical on then and he still blows me off telling me my knees are fine so instead of arguing I shut the door to my room and last but not least the third time I showed my friends a former powerlifter and even he says that i should try and get those fixed and I had him talk to my jackass father and my dads telling me I'm rediculous and that its just a damn knee .

wtf he's willing to send me to crappy 4th rate pts lousy doctors who only do mris and prescribe ai's and pain meds but hes not willing to believe after proving and even been told by numerous people and even the crappy pt that have a bit of knock knees and he wont help at all ?

any advice on how to deal with him because I've honestly tried talking to him several times nicely and I'm constantly getting the same spiel

we wouldnt ever throw money away on a PT for any of our kids sport... its a game.
we work hard for our money...if they wanted a PT bad enough they can work hard for their money and pay for it themselves.

...just my thoughts but, if your 18/19 and already need special help in your sport, Im thinking your chances are slim at making pro or what ever, compared to all the other players at your level that dont need the extra PT ~ so whats the point?
and jeez your an adult, pay your own way already, mommy an daddy shouldnt be hit up for cash anymore. (i had 2 jobs, a new born baby and had my own place at 18, its not like mission impossible to grow up)

Its not for a sport its a medical condtion and Ive had constant problems knee problems since I was a kid and im trying to have them fixed and could use the guidence of a good trainer I never said I would be professional at anything. If your kid had a knee problem and there was a person you could hire or something you could help him with you would do it hell I'd love to pay it in full if I could but I can't I can pay for half of it now I have small business im trying to improve so that I can I'm not some ingrateful child that doesnt know the value of a a dollar. I would justt appreciate something some help from my parent s and for them to recognize the fact that I have condition and not just pretend its normal or not believe me when I say I have pain. Your making it sound like I try to rely on my parents for everything which I don't I buy my own food cook it and pay for any of my own personal amusements but when it comes to medical issues that I still could use the help of my parents.

Have the trainer speak with your parents so they understand what the problem is...sometimes its hard for someone to understand the body if they know nothing about it. No one is born with a knee condition there is something causing it, some imbalance which is causing your knock knee. I would talk to you parents again and tell them this means a lot to you and ask them if they would be willing to meet with a trainer to explain the problem, another option is to meet with the trainer, ask him if he can evaluate you for free and then work out some kind of special rate....or work with him once a week and have him give you things to do on your days off. A good trainer can be costly but you get what you pay for! so make sure you pick someone who knows their shit!

Look up elliot hulse. He might give you some advice or make a video out of your question. Good chance you have flat feat and need orthotics, and you might have hip problems as well that need balancing. I know there are people that specialize in this stuff but its hard to find them, might have been easier 30 years ago. Your average personal trainer won't have a clue. Likely your legs also rotate inwards. I suggest seeing what you can do, and maybe look at some of the underlying causes, like gut issues etc. Also check if you have lordosis etc. tons of things that could be causing this, and no it isn't an easy fix as your body is trained to be like it is now.

Then my advice to you is to at the very least get a crappy full time government job anywhere from city to federal level just to get your own insurance. You can do vending route on the side. It's up to you now. If you really want it you can get it.

Yeah, well see what info you can research and figure out on your own, and if you have to save up to get the help you need then do it. I would do what you can to improve your quality of life. I learned to not depend on anyone else, even if you feel entitled to help from your parents, and though it would be nice gotta forget about that and take care of yourself. I just decided one day "to hell with anyone else."

I love my family but at the same time its like Kevin McAllister said, FAMILIES SUCK. No one in my family could get laid even if they were the last of their gender on earth. Instead of addressing this problem, categorically they have all decided to focus on something else whether it be movies, shopping, work or whatever.

The society we live in is designed to rob you of any real life experiences. We are bred to be consumers whether that mean watching game shows to boost their ratings or eating ho hos and ding dongs. Then we have soap operas and movies to make you feel like you are experiencing life (not shitting on all movies just a lot of them) when really you are fulfilling someone elses dream and not your own. I will pick one example. My brother is a virgin in his early 30s. We went and saw some pos movie about some teenage kids throwing a party at their house. The themes of the movie were getting laid, drinking, fighting authority and hanging with the bros. My brother thoroughly loved this movie even though none of these themes have a damn thing to do with his life. Thats not what bothers me. The movie and things like it in the media and entertainment world (music videos, books to name a few) are designed to do the same thing. To whisk you away to a world where you can get your dik wet. So a lot of people in this world instead of hitting the gym or fixing their fukd up teeth or whatever it might be just lose themselves in our bs entertainment culture. Don't misunderstand me - im not preaching breast implants and juice for everyone. Im just saying people need to get their priorities straight, and get things for themselves.

    Parents: Hells no.

Ask Obama he is big on entitlements. No one owes you $hit. Your old enough it means more to do it yourself. Get as many jobs as it takes. Ask the gym for a job for training, work it off

Let me start off with me apologizing for this thread it was not a good idea to post this . I thank you all for the advice especially I will pay for it my self , I will do ti for myself and to show my father he was wrong about my condtion . I would appreciate if the childish jokes would stop because I'm really not that childish I still live at home but I do help my parents out I don't just live here rent free , sit around smoke weed and do oxycontin like most of the kids around here do . I do all the dishes and all the laundry even do repairs on the house that my parents can't do sometimes. I painted the whole house because my dad was talking about doing it he didn't ask I just did it because he's my father and I figured it would be easier on him . I tiled a whole 12x16 kitchen myself because my mother told my father to do it but I said " no dad I'll do it " not just to help my father out at time, but to help my skills as a carpenter. I realize none of thats to brag about and that its expected for a teenager that is still living at home but I do pay for everything else that I do so I'm no were near as childish as most of you would think. I worked hard to save the money for the machines I have I didn't ask my parents for the money since it was my idea but I came to my parents for one thing which was for help for medical condition in my legs which has been causing more and pain each day so I am trying to grow up and I do have responsibillities we don't all grow up at the same rate but I am trying and I dont wan't to be some 40 year old bum who lives with his parents. I wanna get older expand my business and hopefully have a good sized company as soon as possbile and your right I should get a job though it would help me expand faster and help me to pay for what needs to be so thank you all especially seoinage for trying to help me figure out why I have these crap knees.

When I was your age I had to walk to school in 3 feet of snow every day, uphill, both ways while holding down 2 full time jobs and still do chores around the house so quit bitching!

You'll figure it out and be just fine, we're just jabbin ya a little, it helps build character.
