I think the no milk thing is an urban myth

I think a lot of this shit this guy says makes sense:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkxbO...feature=relmfu

    Cliff notes:

    1. Milk is a great source of protein.
    2. You shouldn't worry about cutting it out of your diet unless you are close to a competition.

Theres a lot of milk hating in bodybuilding. "Milk is for babies". I'm not buying it

Milk does upset some peoples stomach, such as myself. I'm much better on raw organic whole milk than I am on stuff you buy in the supermarket.

It is an excellent source of protein, vitamin C, calcium and omega-3 though.

As I got older... I became lactose intolerant big time. I wish I could have a big glass of milk like I use to... it gives me really severe stomach pains and bloat. No bowel movements, just gas and pain. I can have an occasional glass with PB&J, but that's about it. I am even starting to run into issues with whey protein now.

It has been shown that milk is the main cause of Ear infections in many kids. Milk does a body good sometimes. We are the only mammal that drinks milk after 1 year old.

I think milk like most things are good in moderation. I typically trying to only drink organic milk anymore.

I love milk, but for years I could only choke down the chocolate variety, but since I started taking my nutrition seriously, white-milk is a mainstay.

I've been using a cup of fat free along with a cup of egg whites in my PWO shake. I am thinking that fat-free cottage cheese is a pretty good substitute - more protein, less lactose. Still, it's high quality protein and the lactose helps the protein be absorbed...

Milk is terrible for you!! This guy obviously is not educated enough on the subject to understand why we want to stay away from milk. 1# There is lactose in both mothers milk and cow's milk but they are two different kinds of lactose, Humans are not able to digest cow's lactose which creates an allergic reaction in the body causing all kinds of problem from inflammation, increased cortisol levels, overgrowth of candida and bad bacteria, nasal and sinus blockage ect ect ect. 2# Lactose is a sugar and unless you are buy organic unpasteurised milk they add even more sugar to it to make it taste better. 3# Milk is heated to a high temperature before being packaged which ruins any and all mineral and vitamin content...often time the company will add cheap low quality vitamins to fortify the milk which are poorly absorbed. 3# Cows are injected with very high doses of antibiotics and trace amount of these antibiotics stay in the milk killing off the good bacteria in your body and creating all sorts of problems! 4# Hormones are given to cows including ESTROGEN which also are found in trace amounts of the milk.

I forgot to mention that 99% of the protein in milk is use less since it has been denatured in the heating process.

Let me ask you Something? If I gave you a glass of water, added small drop of antibiotics, a small drop of estrogen, 2 tbs of sugar, and a small drop of something that you have a mild allergic reaction to, would your drink it?

I add a glass every day or two with my PB at bed time. The one I drink is silk brand pure almond unsweetened. The macro profile for 8oz is 35 cal, 2.5g fat, 1g carbs (from dietary fiber) 0 sugar, and 1g pro.

Have not drank milk since 1994. Used to drink a gallon about every 2 days for years. I don't remember feeling any different when I stopped, but I sure feel good now. I use almond milk when the need arises for cooking and such... But I am with some of the above. If I am going to drink milk I think it should come from my species.

The cow processes it. But it's loaded with sugar. An 8oz glass has 16 grams of sugar. 72 of the 144 calories in that 8oz glass of milk come from fats too. I don't have no fear of drinking milk or anything, but it has to fit in your diet. That being said, I use it for my protein shakes after working out. Water just doesn't taste right.

I'd agree, but ... what the body builders goal?? less water retention, and avoiding insulin spikes from food.. or only post workout..
