What is the peak age of a bodybuilder ?
I'd do a poll but was unsure of how to group it, so what is the peak age ?
You needs to have a few years sustained growth on you, natural test lowers with age and lowers even more with every cycle you do.
Im 33, I say late 30's for peak and I'm relativately a late starter

I think there are a lot of factors that come into play, like genetics, but in a general sense, I think 30-35. I just turned 35 and feel great. When I was 32 I was in the best shape of my life and I would have crushed the 25 year old me.
I'm not saying it's all down hill from here or anything. I have 48 year old friends who can hang with me in the gym on my best days.

I think the key is to stay in shape. Never stop working out and eating healthy and you will surprise yourself how good you can get at any age.

For a pro bodybuilder..... I'd say about 30. I believe this leaves you enough time to learn your body and what you need to do in order to be sucessful but also leaves you enough time to be competitive for more than just a couple years.
For the average bodybuilder..... I believe you can maintain a ncie physique for quite a long time.

The only peak a bodybuilder knows is a bicep peak.

I don't know if there is a peak. Cutler just gets bigger every year and I see guys at the gym almost twice my age in shape I wish I was in.

Putting aside natural genetics I would think it has a lot to do with how early you start and how hard you hit it. That is if you start at 25 and are doing everything you can to gain then you will peak later than if you start at 20. I don't have any IFBB pro first hand knowlege but in those who I have seen who competed at slightly lower levels over the years, and who have basically used everything at their disposal and competed successfully usually were able to gain for 10 yrs or more, so if one waited till they were 25 to start they would continue to grow steadily past 30, whereas someone who competed natural would not.
Keep in mind Coleman was what 34 before he beat Dorian and Dorian did not win till he was 30.Last edited by Far from massive; 04-28-2012 at 09:03 PM.
