NFL Draft
1st round is over with and there were some real shockers!
Team that made out the best so far:
Vikings - Trade down and still get Matt kalil and then trade back into the first round and take harrison smith....they get an A+ so far! and they still have 7 or 8 picks left!
Teams that made out the worst:
Bills - They picked up a solid player in stephen gilmore but they could have traded down and picked him up late in the first and mabey even into the second.
49ers - take aj jenkins in the first round! common man! they could have waited and ended up with him in the 2nd! they must really like him!
Team that took the biggest gamble:
Browns - Took brandon weeden 22nd over all...they have a poor history with QB's and the guy is 29 years old, but he could turn out to be a steal a year or two from now!

I'm interested to see how the Skins fair with RGIII. I'm not a skins fan but the team has struggled with QBs for years so this will be interesting to watch. Pats did some very interesting wheeling and dealing, didn't they?

No way gilmore would be available in the second.
he was the second rated cb in the draft. Kirpatrick went 17th, and he was the 3rd rated cb....

Come on Weedens only 28 lol. I live in Ohio but not a brown fan. I think brown need to change alot more than QB, but Weeden late in 1st round is a good pick I think. Richardson will help big time but they need another weapon as a receiver. It's never good when your best player by far is your return guy lol.

If weeden was 22 years old he would have gone top 5 in the draft! the guy has an amazing arm! and although I don't know how he acted when he was 22 right now he is a mature, poised, leader and IMO is a copy of andy dalton from last year but with a stronger arm. That being said hes turning 29 this year....you might get 6 or at most 7 solid year from the guy before he starts heaving health issues or retires....on the other hand if you feel like your team is not that far away from being a play off team and you beleve he improves your offense then hes a smart pick up.

It will be interesting to see what goes on tonight! there are still about 10 1st round caliber players on the board and three of them are WR's

haha yeah I know I feel bad for you browns fans it must be tough! but you just got an amazing running back! you have a solid O-line, and if your can pick up a WR in the 2nd your team will look a whole lot better! they wont make the playoffs this year but if they make the right moves 2-3 years from now they could be a really good team!

The weeden pick is a bag gamble! they should have either traded down and taken him later or grabbed harrison smith or a WR like stephen hillis or rueben randle. I don't think people give colt mccoy enouph credit! I dont think he Manning or Brady but I still think he's a solid player....he's never had anyone around him! they have never given him a group of WR's to work with and he has never had a solid running game for more then a year.
