Election 2012! Thoughts?
Mitt romney vs. incumbent president Barack Obama
what are your thoughts?
Imo, Obama has done a terrible job with the economy, foreign policy, fiscal budget, healthcare (obama care), and everything else. The last 4 years were not filled with hope... change yes...for the worse that it is.
to back up my previous points...
unemployment remains over 8% for over 40 consecutive months.
iran is still building up their nuclear program and they seem rather certain they will not stop.
16 trillion dollars in debt. need I say more here? I dont know if this will ever be paid off.
health costs through the roof, insurance premiums keep rising, and obamacare will only add to the deficit.
Lets keep it clean guys, try and be respectful here.

I honestly do not think anyone can fix are problems. With congress being so corrupt I do not feel any president will do much progress.
That being said, I believe mitt will attempt to do a better job. Just being republican he is much for self determination and not free hand outs like some democrat presidents.

i dont think everything Obama did was bad. I like some of the stuff, some i dont.
Also the way congress is who knows if things could be better if Obama got some things passed or would be worse.
I'm still open about Romney, But i would like to hear some of what he plans. Not just i will fix this or that. But how?If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

Unfortunately my opinion is we are screwed. Our problems have been a half century or more in the making.
-
Oh, that's a fact. . . . .
I personally believe that what you see is all a huge joke. Both of them being neck n' neck. . . It's a sham to make the sheeple believe they have a choice. But, what do I know. . .I lived in Russia when it was still communistic, this strangely feels similar. Now - Where can I make some $ on this?

I doubt it, nobody can accurately predict who will be the vp, besides romney. I will be shocked if he picks Candoleza (sp?)
Well buissness is buissness. Buissness is not politics, there is a fine line between the two. Not two mention bain only started to outsource jobs AFTER 1999, when romney left to run the olympics (which was deeply in debt, sound familiar?) and turned the whole operation 180 degrees.
Care to elaborate on what exactly obama did that you like? And congress is in a stalemate, with two very different parties butting heads at every turn and not willing to compromise. Democrats want to pour more money into the economy to "jump start" it (stimulus 2009 would be a good example). While republicans want to lower taxes to jump start the economy and reduce (or in some cases abolish) government programs. It is rather simple to see why they can't and won't compromise.
See above on that congress explaination.

I can't understand what "problems" some of you percieve that can't be fixed? It's not the Govts job to fix social issues period.....that's the biggest problem we have, this is supposed to be a gawdamned Republic not a socialist dictatorship. We absolutely NEED a CEO to run this country, someone who understands how to balance a frickin ledger would be a damn good place to start..........the latest news is o-fvcking-bama wants to make it possible to collect welfare with no prerequisites, K-rist even comrade Clinton had more sense than that.
The magic muslim has one goal in life and that is to take from those who produce and give it to those who dont.....if you agree with him that makes you a socialist.....and a lazy ignorant fvck!!! There is only one choice for anyone who values what little freedoms we have left.

and now hospitals are required to treat the people. So they are getting free healthcare. Why not make them buy insurance and be responsible for themselves. Right now we are paying for it.
and its not communism. Lets not forget a mandate was a conservative position for almost 20 yearsIf people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

make them pay for insurance? why not make them pay for healthcare? or rely on private charities?
-
07-13-2012, 07:04 PM #27
Cause most cant pay for there own health care cash. Its not like they ask for payment before they treat you. So when they send out bills how many do you think pay. Very little do. Thats why we all pay more. Why should we pay or a charity? Thats more "socialist" then anything.
If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

i audited a health care provider bbefore (hospital)
thier delinquency (potential bad debt) was pushing 40%
health insurance pays in the 60+ bucket (typically)
credit cards do not show up on an aged receivables and therefore not really a part of the calculation
very very few patients pay cash
so almost everyone that doesn't pay with insurance or credit card is a potential bad debt. most that DONT" pay by insurance or credit card, if they do pay anything at all, is usually a partial payment which "settles" the account.
but this is known up front, and calculated INTO their operational costs, and so therefore, increases bill rates. this means you and I, the ones that DO pay with either insurance or credit card, are paying an additional 40% to cover for those that do not pay.

I say we re elect Thomas Jefferson.
Thomas Jefferson was a very remarkable man who started learning very early in life and never stopped.
At 5, began studying under his cousin's tutor.
At 9, studied Latin, Greek and French.
At 14, studied classical literature and additional languages.
At 16, entered the College of William and Mary.
At 19, studied Law for 5 years starting under George Wythe.
At 23, started his own law practice.
At 25, was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses.
At 31, wrote the widely circulated "Summary View of the Rights of British America and retired from his law practice.
At 32, was a Delegate to the Second Continental Congress.
At 33, wrote the Declaration of Independence .
At 33, took three years to revise Virginia 's legal code and wrote a Public Education bill and a statute for Religious Freedom.
At 36, was elected the second Governor of Virginia , succeeding Patrick Henry.
At 40, served in Congress for two years.
At 41, was the American minister to France , and negotiated commercial treaties with European nations along with Ben Franklin and John Adams.
At 46, served as the first Secretary of State under George Washington.
At 53, served as Vice President and was elected president of the American Philosophical Society.
At 55, drafted the Kentucky Resolutions, and became the active head of Republican Party.
At 57, was elected the third president of the United States .
At 60, obtained the Louisiana Purchase , doubling the nation's size.
At 61, was elected to a second term as President.
At 65, retired to Monticello
At 80, helped President Monroe shape the Monroe Doctrine.
At 81, almost single-handedly created the University of Virginia , and served as its first president.
At 83, died on the 50th anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence, along with John Adams
Thomas Jefferson knew because he himself studied the previous failed attempts at government. He understood actual history, the nature of God, his laws and the nature of man. That happens to be way more than what most understand today. Jefferson really knew his stuff. A voice from the past to lead us in the future:
"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe ." -- Thomas Jefferson
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
-- Thomas Jefferson
"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world."
-- Thomas Jefferson
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." -- Thomas Jefferson
"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government." -- Thomas Jefferson
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."
-- Thomas Jefferson
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -- Thomas Jefferson
"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."
-- Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

Both parties push it.....it's BS no matter who pushes it.......the only thing that our forefathers gave us was FREEDOM.......mainly the freedom to PURSUE a happy successful and healthy life.....the freedom to PURSUE.....nothing more....just an opportunity.
As far as healthcare goes it's just more socialist BS..........everyone will get treated and the fine for not buying the insurance will be like 500 dollars.....guess what obamacare supporters.... I'm gonna cancel my insurance and pay the fine......simple economics......hope you obama lovers enjoy it when the tables turn and you have to start paying for all of us hard workers for a change..............total and utter stupidity on the part of this administration........it needs fixed but socialism has been proven MANY times around the globe to be a BAD idea. Mitt Romney is a gawdamned genius compared to obama......we're in a sad state of affairs but it WILL get worse if he gets reelected.

You must not have ever owned a business. If he didn't cut jobs the businesses would have went out of business, then how many jobs would of been lost. He saved jobs. Tens of thousands of people are working today because of what Mitt did at Bayne. Only the companies that were to far gone were shut down. That was not his fault. Most business failures come from over employment and out of controll overhead..

Amen, to many people only look at their individual situation instead of the big picture. Some times you have to tear down and rebuild to fix something instead of putting a band-aid or temporary fix. What good would throwing more money at it if it's not going to produce a profit in the future. That is how our government has fixed things for way to long. If it doesnt work just do it again and again and again. Stimulus package after stimulus package. FAIL.
We meed someone to come in and clean house. I Hope Mitt will do some house cleaning but I doubt it will go very deep. The current administration and many in the past every time THEY claim to be cutting back government what they really do is cut anything that is public assistance such as Fire, police, social services, teachers, military etc. Never do you see them cutting the real fluff and money. Government aid workers, special interest projects that cost billions and have no positive impact, drivers, unneeded trips, expenses, etc.

Here is todays quote straight from the headlines....the magic Muslim is a total disgrace to the human race, let alone a great and productive republic like ours...........
President Obama, in a speech to supporters, suggested business owners owe their success to government investment in infrastructure and other projects -- saying “if you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that.”
Fvcking ignorant asshole.........and this is the guy we should trust to run our soon to be socialist lives........fvck me!!!
