A Few Disgruntled Old Hags Are Threatening A J. C. Penney Boycott Over Father's Day
Yep you heard it right. Some tired bored women, probably wives of congressmen with nothing better to do since sewing club disbanded are threatening to boycott J.C. Penney store over there decision to celebrate diversity fathers day. In other words Penney's is recognizing that there are all types of dads including gay ones and that doesn't set right with these ladies and their morals which they believe every one must conform to. That about sums it up. So if you shop at J.C. Penney and see a bunch of ticked off rich women in front with protest signs well now you know why. They will be there till Macy's opens at 8 am with their sheet sale. Only in America...lol

Well that is the point they have the right to protest you as much as you have the right to have gay pride parades etc.

Call me crazy, but why wouldn't JC Penney want people to shop there for their gay fathers? I mean they're not in the business of deciding what's moral and immoral. They're there to make money and the more wares they move the more money they make. They say what 1 in 10 people are gay? So these hags want JC Penney to lose potentially 10% of their business? That's fvcking retarded.

ummm my teen went shopping on his own last week and came home with a T-shirt that had the Coke-a-cola polar bear on it playing in the snow...with the words "cant get enuff COKE" on it...
...but yea things like happy gay loving couples that adopt and care for their children are a HUGE problem and have no place in stores or their advertising, they should BE stopped IMMEDIATELY

I say send them ole ladies down to Harlem on father's day instead of protesting outside a J.C. Penney Store. That should wake them up since that's the most confusing day down there. Every one is running around asking.."Are You My Daddy"?

This is he same group that tried to organize a boycott to force JCP to fire Ellen as their new spokesperson. Then they made threats because JCP put a lesbian couple in their catalog. They were not able to get any traction on those issues and they won't get much on this one. Thank goodness.
Personally, I hope JCP is just doing this to piss off the so-called One Million Moms.

Yeah I kind of add this in with the big deal over gays and lesbians getting a marriage license. I mean seriously who cares? and honestly how is it going to affect you and your marriage? Not you personally JV, just in general speak here. I just don't get all the commotion over it all. And for those that say it's to protect the sanctity of marriage, I say well lets see now the divorce rate is upwards now almost hitting 60%. So almost 60% of straight marriages are ending in failure so how on earth could gays getting married matter at all? Oh well there always will be nay sayers over something..lol Kind of makes you wonder what those hundreds of gay children of those 1 million protesting moms think about all of this.

Sanctity of marriage? Pffffft, straight people destroyed that institution before we ever allowed gays to even share it. These sanctimonious folks are basically saying the BEST gay marriage is still more offensive than the WORST straight marriage. Ridiculous. Just like saying the best gay parents are still worse than the worst straight parents. Unbelievable. Sure, kids may be living in squalor, ignored, beaten and neglected but at least they aren't being raised to think being gay is OK. Obviously that last bit is sarcastic...and obviously I am agreeing with you.
She speaks to a certain demographic that obviously you and I are not a part of. I have always found her to be polite, courteous and safe...but never funny. I have been trying to like her comedy for decades.

Shol'va, I think the biggest problem with gay marriage is the use of the term "marriage." Just come up with a different name, but make it legally equivalent to marriage. That way you get what you want and the Jesus freaks can't fight you over it.
And JohnnyV, I don't think we could ever find that demographic that finds Ellen funny. But you're right she is polite, courteous and safe. That's what keeps her around. Plus she's juiced in and can play that discrimination card if she ever got turned down for a gig. I think the chick from that show Glee and Role Models is like a funnier version of her.

Yeah I personally have no issue there and as far as the marriage bit I don't care whether I'm married or not as long and here is my catch, as long as I get the same rights, like rights of survivorship if my partner dies before me and we have been together for years I should be entitled to his half of our stuff we accumulated and I should be able to visit him if he is deadly sick in the hospital even though he is not my kin by blood. I shouldn't be kept away from him just because I'm not related to him. You would be surprised how many family members from the other side come out of the wood work to dictate a partners affairs when he is down and out even though he has a committed partner, they just do their best to squeeze him out of the picture and it gets real ugly. Unfortunately this is what we have to deal with in real life that married people don't have to worry about. Other than that I don't need a marriage certificate...

I don't understand why people are fighting over the word "marriage" when there is already such a huge difference between the religious marriage that everyone seems so worked up about, and civil marriage. Funny thing is that the religious marriage isn't recognized by the government, only the civil marriage. So, if letting any idiot get a civil marriage doesn't "devalue" religious marriage, why do we care who gets a civil marriage?
Ellen has been successful for decades and it is a mystery to me even though I like her. I have watched her standup and movies and they all just make me scratch my head. Sometimes I wonder aloud, "wait, was there even a joke in there?" It just serves as a reminder that comedy is HIGHLY subjective.
