    Any Barber in this forum

Any Barber in this forum this forum, I need your advise. I do have problem with shaving my beard with razor the old fashion way. Every time when i used razor I ending get bumps on chin, jaws and neck.

Some years ago, someone I advise me that the reason I was getting those bumps was because of ingrown hair not the razor that causes it. He advise that when using razor, shave against the way the beard follicle intents to grow. I did that and I'm still get bumps if closed shave razor.

I trield dilapedated cream and electric shaving gadget as a consequent of that but I prefer the world fashion razor blade just like old dad...Any thoughts what I should do....thanks

Take a warm shower. While in the shower rub the edge of the bar of soap up and down your neck, jaw and chin areas moderately for a few minutes. You can let the water run down your neck while you do this. When you get out while still wet lather and shave. You should get no bumps. Im not a barber this is just what I do.

yeah same here. I get irritated easily from shaving neck. I only shave every other day at most, and always take a hot shower and wash face first, then splash hot water on face just before applying shaveing cream. Better cream and razor may help to if your using the cheap stuff

only time i get red bumps is when i bare down too hard on my neck or jawbone or on the sides of the mouth...i don't know what some magazine or website may describe it as, but it's clear as can be to me that this is caused due to the follicle below the skin which causes a mound of skin above it, of which the top is shaved off when baring down....it's not rocket science....to minimize this i go with the grain (the direction the hair grows outward from the follicle, which can be tricky on my neck as my hair grows a swirl pattern on one side of my neck) while baring down only hard enough to shave the hair...of course, the shave won't be as close this way, but nor will you shave the top of the follicle off with the stubble...but that's life. btw my great grandfather was a barber

on my neck my follicles are more spread out which also makes them easier to shave off.. and i also like to shave in the shower with a lot of steam. also, make sure you get all the water off of your blade after you rinse it so it doesn't rinse away or thin out the shaving cream on your face. water is a bad lubricant compared to the cream and will exacerbate the red spot problem

    Ht:

Thanks for the above suggestion. The only problem I have is shaving in the direction the hair grows since my they all grow in different directions: I mean under my chin, it grows kinda toward my neck. on both side of face, its grows downward from ears to my jaw, then it grows upward along the jaw area. This makes it diffricult to shave in the direction the hair follicle grows as many people suggec=sted. Thanks for the advise bro...

i know how you feel. i have hair that grows down, straight out, up, swirl. it's a pain in the ass which is why i tend to have a months growth on my face and usually shave once a month with my clippers (i hate shaving)

I was getting razor bumps on my neck and face quite a bit not long ago for the first time ever. I found I was starting to use to much pressure and going over it to many times trying to get it baby smooth. dont go over the same area more than 2x, go with the direction of the growth, typically down and exfoliate. Make sure your face is CLEAN before and after shaving. Wash at least 1x a day additionally and it should clear right up.
