I thought Andy Whitfield was great as Spartacus and the new guy cannot compare

i didnt like the new guy too initially, but after watching the whole season, i kind of got used to him.

his performance may not be perfect, but i think those ridiculous splashing of red paint/blood and crazy slo-mo made him look a lot worse than he needs to be

Seriously? Now that I didn't know. Ending after 4 seasons...bummer. I've got the first 2 on DVD already just waiting for season 3 to be available. But if your right about next season being the last then it should be a wild season with anything goes action and sex because they will want to go out with a bang. I think it will be back on in Dec or Jan 2013

I am not sure if you ever watch ROME on HBO (much better IMO) but they had to take off air because the cost to run the show is too much.

I am not sure if the same happens with spartacus. I know thats why they use so much cgi and keep the clothes much more simple then ROME was

I'm not sure about the cost, however they do film it over in New Zealand to save on cost. Same way with that mini series that just run on History channel The Hatfields and McCoys with Kevin Costner. It was filmed in Romania for cost savings.

i think the writers should just revert back to the beginning.. as in starting over with a new ludus and a new cast,, kill spartacus and start over.. the show was much better the first 2 seasons...
