    Job hunt

Hey guys quick question are any members here in the close protection or bodyguard job roles?

Im a qualified hostile environment bodyguard and medic and I've had a few small contracts but nothing major.
I'm starting to loose faith in the trade now.

I studied and passed in south Africa at Ronin and they have given me an amazing skill base but now I really want to put that to good use!

Would like to hear from anybody in the industry on there thoughts or if they know of any contracts or even just to say hi and meet a like minded individual.

    Thanks

Got a friend from racing cars who has been in the business for a number of years. He says times suck, we are in the Wash DC area of the US and at events where there used to be 4 dozen cars with qualified personel at the wheel he said you are lucky to see 4. Only the guys at the top or those in immenant danger are getting the funding for protection or chauffered protection.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

    Hopefully the UK is different.

If you are willing to travel, there is a company called Global Strategies Group that hires paramilitary security personell. Many of the blokes I've known that worked for them, including the ones on my former project, were South African.

If you got the (ahem) balls, then here is the website for you to check out.
    http://www.globalgroup.com/

not sure how much experience you have, but a team leader can make upwards of $150k US Equivalent per year.

But you have to be good. There is a lot of competition for these jobs. And as the turmoil in Afghanistan winds down, there will be even more competition for these jobs.

I've known a lot of good blokes that worked for Global. If that is your cup of tea, this is the company to work for.

    Good luck!

The project we worked on, we had (unfortunately) locals doing the CPO piece, and then the team leaders were above them, providing them training, etc. You may be a fit.
