In my particular scenario... there is this one blonde-haired shithead kid (yes, KID - looks no older than about 19) who is all of about 5'11" and about 130 lbs. soaking wet and he has only been working out for a little under 1 year - and no changes to his physique at all during this time. He looks the exact same. He goes around telling people WHAT TO DO, and HOW THEY SHOULD DO IT, and WHAT THEY ARE DOING WRONG!! Aaaand of course, this person can be seen performing exercises with ridiculous momentum inserted into them, stupid quirky exercises that are very dangerous, and using/doing stupid shit like attaching chains to dumbbells and performing god-knows-what (I couldn't tell what he was doing sometimes). Just generally dangerous training practices.
Now, here's what really pissed me off. I'm a trainer at my gym. I was training my client once, having him do deadlifts, and this little shit comes up to me and says "hey, excuse me, can I have a word with you for a moment in private for a sec?". Now, I thought he's going to tell me some machine is busted, or a complaint about another member. But no... he pulls me a few feet aside (now, I can't remember precisely what he said to me) and says to me "I notice your client's head leverage is too far forward" or something freaking stupid, I can't remember exactly. And he proceeds to say "might I suggest you try having him do" blah blah BLAH BLAH!!!!!! I was so offended and taken back by this, I took a step back, looked at him, and I was like "are you SERIOUS, man!? Thanks for the advice, NOW GET BACK TO YOUR WORKOUT!". I felt like exploding on this idiot, but it wouldn't look good on me, the gym staff, or the gym. That was his first offense.
Second offense is when he did almost the exact same thing another time. I'm teaching a client who is performing flat barbell benchpress for the first time how to maintain proper form on it, and how to position correctly in order to hit whichever desired muscle area and how to put more emphasis on certain parts. I believe I told my client to have a slightly wider than shoulder width grip and to bring the bar down to his upper chest level, not nipple level. SO this little shit nearby interjects my instruction and goes "YOU SHOULD BRING IT TO YOUR NIPPLES WHEN DESCENDING, YOU CAUSE SHOULDER PROBLEMS WHEN YOU BRING IT DOWN HIGHER THAN THAT". And my response was "first of all, damage and shoulder problems occur with how much weight you use and the cadence of your repetitions, because if it is too heavy and you perform reps too fast, you will strain the joint and tendons - and from what i've seen YOU do around gym, maybe that's why you're so concerned about joint damage and problems - you could benefit from listening to my advice, not me listening to you" - and he had NO RESPONSE for me. He was dumbfounded.
Third offense was when I myself was doing deadlifts once, totally gassing myself out at 355 lb. deads to failure. He came up to me and said something stupid, I can't remember what it was - I likely wasn't even listening to him while my eyes were rolling out of my head and i'm thinking to myself "god, not this little shithead again". So when he was done his verbal diarrhea, my response was: "when you can lift the same weight I am, then you can come talk to me. In the meantime, go away". He hasn't talked to me ever since, and every time we pass by each other in the gym, we give each other a little snare.
This kid has been known to go up to countless others in the gym and do the same things. I have half a mind to warn this kid to stop, because he is very well handing out dangerous advice to people judging by the way this guy trains himself.
