Canadians Support annexation into the United States!

I posted this elsewhere, but thought it would be an interesting topic for discussion.

Some call it North Montana =)

Here's the question that is beggin to be asked. Why would 20% of Canadians be agreeable to annexation?

I've thought about this. I know that some Canadians are formerly US Citizens, so maybe that could be part of it.
Really no security concerns from a global standpoint, so it's not a desire to side with a massive military power.
Canadian economy is doing great right now, so no real economic reason.

    Any ideas?

    let's look at their deficiencies.

    well, let's see....

The price of their alchohol is too high.
    Guns are mostly illegal.
If you look at your kids crosseyed, the government will take issue
    it's too cold
    tax rates are high
government hospitals are not that good

the only thing I can think of is that somehow they look to the United States like a big brother and somehow feel kinship with us.

I don't see any real upside for Canadians if something like this were to happen

    Anyone else?

I don't want them part of the US, they fvcked up their own country quite nicely, I like the few freedoms I have left, What if we give them California? Maybe that will satisfy their warm feelings of kinship.

Our beer might be twice as much but you only have to drink half the amount to get the same buzz so it works out.

Guns are not mostly illegal. We just are not allowed to walk into walmart with them on our hip.

It can get cold but we have jackets.

Our hospitals never turn people away if they dont have enough money in their pocket. Thats good enough for me.

High taxes yes, living in a province with a surplus, yes.

We cant look at our kids cross-eyed but it could be worst, they could be cross-eyed.

Yeah, TR, I don't see why anyone would want to live in Canada, aside from the fishing and hunting. I mean they got smoother riding roads for the most part. But for the taxes they pay, I'd rather have a pot hole here and there.

As far as medical care goes, as Brock Lesnar what he thinks of Canadian hospitals. Let's face it, if I were sick I'd rather pay for quality than take the half-assed freebie.

I've met quite a few cross-eyed Canadians. And their heads flap.

How does it make you feel knowing that if you got sick that you would get the care based on what you could afford and not the best that is available to you. Because, i am sure that if something happened to you right there is a level of health care above what you could afford. Must be a hard pill to swallow knowing that if you could afford a better package maybe you will live longer. Canada might not have everything but they dont ask for insurance proof before trying to save your life.

Well Capetown, what I could afford IS the best available to me. The Canadian system and virtually every country that has socialised medicine has shit care all around. That might be a step up for a welfare case, but for people higher up the hierarchy of life, it's a massive step down.

LOL figures Quebec would have the highest percentage of people who favor being annexed. Those damn assholes cant make up their minds. I thought they wanted to be independent?

I believe its a very touchy subject. Like we say dont talk sex religion or poultices and we will all be fine. Mt husband lives here in Ontario and he does not want Quebec to separate. No more comments.

not true, the UK has it, you might wait a bit longer for treatment but the the treatment is generally good, its just the same doctors who do private. waiting on it is the sticking point.....

**** no. We don't need your debts and wars. Bad enough we lost 150+ men and women in Afghanistan, and nearly lost a friend of mine. Thank god we didn't put troops in Iraq and spend the country into oblivion on a useless war and tax cuts, as much as our now current Prime Minister wanted us to at the time he was in the opposition.

But I guess we are changing into the USA with our current Prime Minister, who I like to call "Smart Bush". Basically doing all the stupid shit Bush did, like lower taxes while spending more, increasing the size of government and infringing on our rights and doing what Israel tells us to do, but distracts the average Canadian by engaging in wedge issues in Parliament while stealing from us.
