Wow.. pretty eye opening
interesting to see the diff staple foods each place eats
yea in the US you can even buy packaged apples.
Pretty much if its not packaged and processed it does not go in the cart.
I've been to Ecuador and plan to retire there. Food is really cheap and there is abundance of fruits and veggies.
The corn is completely different since it has not been genetically modified.
Dang. I spend more than an entire family! I better start shopping at costco.
Wow look at the foods on the first one, nothing but packaged trash food. I would love to take a picture of the food we eat in a week. There would be several steaks, a pork butt or two, some chicken, an assortment of veggies, not a single packaged processed prepared item.
thats crazy!
thats pretty disturbing. look at chad and look at what the us eats. rediculous. alothough i do like the second pictuers variety of FRESH fruits and veggies.
Damn, not only all the packaged food but all the pop or soda in the first three. 3rd, 4th and 5th look good except missing the protein from steak and chicken.
Why don't they show a family from the US who live on a farm instead of the city? Big difference. I don't live on a farm but last time I had some pizza was July at a kids birthday party. Can't remember the last time we ordered pizza, maybe 3 or 4 years ago.
Im just really happy to have been born in the US, although Italy looks alright
Interesting seeing just how marketing/advertising effects the different Countries. The US is fortunate.
Thats not a weeks worth of food that I would touch. I do love my little mini pizzas though (Jenos), I can get one for 50 cents at the Commissary on post.
The mark-up is insane in the US. Everytime I shop at the Military Commissary I shreak when I see the difference that civilians have to pay. Up here in Alaska you save almost 40% across the board. Things like Milks & eggs (Dairy) are pretty close, but most everything else can be had for half of what local stores charge. People wonder why they can't afford food. They complain about Gas prices but overlook food?
Ugh. Fat ass Americans.
That's not a week of groceries in this f-ing house!
To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the average British/Australian "week" looked too dissimilar to the USA one.
Note how much healthier all the other places looked. No junk food at all.
The western week is also a reflection of how lazy people in English speaking countries are. In Denmark, the EU has just banned a product because of how wasteful packaging would have been. Pre-packed peeled bananas. I wish I was making that up.
EDIT: When I travelled and spent time in Nepal, all they mostly ate out there was Dahl Bhat, which is basically steamed rice and lentil soup. Needless to say, I didnt see one overweight Nepalese over there.

I like to think that my household eats way cleaner than the Italians or the American family highlighted there. But for you guys talking about how clean those diets in those third world countries look. Good luck trying to support your bodybuilding hobby with that diet. I eat more in a day by myself than that whole family in Chad ate in a week.
Also note that the American family is the smallest of all the families shown and they have the most food. Don't worry the aveage Brit family would not be too far behind the Americans on this subject.
I would hope that most (if not all) of us on here would aspire to a better diet than those shown!!
