    living in Thailand

i was thinking of living in Thailand for about 6-12 months in 2014, and not just for cheap AAS either, i also have family in Udon Thani.

anyways was just wondering how much cash (AUD) should i bring to be able to live good while im there (also including 1 or 2 AAS cycles )??
and can you buy AAS from any pharmacy in Thailand, or just from the ones in the red light districts, or do you have to go to Bangkok??
and as for accommodation, ill probably just rent something with a bed, shower, and kitchen. my grandparents will provide cheap accommodation while im in Udon Thani, but i will probably want to travel all over the country.

any advice from those who are currently living there, or have lived there in the past would be much appreciated, i know theres a few aussies that have moved there so would love to hear from them especially. thanks.

Its cheaper than aus but not as cheap as bali. I got mates that come and go they get some test there for 40 bucks per 10ml.
If you do your own cooking i think it would be pretty cheap.

not sure if you've been there or not, udon is a rather big city as far as thai upcountry cities goes. you can find nearly everything there including things i can't even get here in my "modern" tourist based city in the south.

anyways was just wondering how much cash (AUD) should i bring to be able to live good while im there (also including 1 or 2 AAS cycles )??
obviously this depends entirely on the lifestyle you want to live while you're here. just off the top of my head i think the test e cycle including pct clomid/nolva and hcg was around 6,000thb. if you eat thai food you can eat for a few hundred baht per day, if you eat western it's going to be several times more than that. since most large cities here are tourist based, your cost for staying is dependent upon the tourist season. where i live you could get a bungalow with fan on the beach for 300-400 thb per night right now because it's about to be monsoon season. come back in two months and that bungalow will be 1,500thb

and can you buy AAS from any pharmacy in Thailand, or just from the ones in the red light districts, or do you have to go to Bangkok??

no, not just any pharmacy. you will have to ask around. your chances of getting fakes goes up too so always better to know what the original bottle/packaging from mfr is supposed to look like. google the thai mfr names of things like test, dbol, anavar etc so you can recognize the thai product. best bet is to look for a pharmacy adjacent to a big gym, or a pharmacy that sells whey protein.

and as for accommodation, ill probably just rent something with a bed, shower, and kitchen. my grandparents will provide cheap accommodation while im in Udon Thani, but i will probably want to travel all over the country.

so many different options here it's practically useless to even start. most thai bungalows don't have a real kitchen but rather a refrigerator, sink and rice cooker. if you want an actual kitchen your room cost will go up by a factor of 10. every city is different and it's all based on tourism seasons. your grandparents house in udon probably has a squat toilet and a bucket in the bathroom with a dipper for pouring water over your head as a shower. udon is a thriving city now though with lots of expats, i actually like it up there.

any advice from those who are currently living there, or have lived there in the past would be much appreciated, i know theres a few aussies that have moved there so would love to hear from them especially. thanks.
the best way to go about it is to pick the actual city or cities you want to use as a base for travel and start googling from there. i always recommend that new arrivals here book at least 1 or 2 room nights in their chose city before getting here, then rent a scooter and go in search of something you actually like once you are here. recommend you have travel insurance, and good international medical insurance. if you know you will be spending some time in udon because of your girlfriends parents, then use udon as your first base and explore laos from there, there isn't much in the extended area outside udon, maybe go see the dinosaur fossils. once you have a more accurate travel plan it would be much easier to help.

haha well based on the assumption that any westerner that claims family in udon would have to have a girlfriend/wife from that area is all. i didn't see any part of your post that said you were thai, only that you were living in australia and therefore australian. i have family in udon as well, but they have all come to me via my girlfriend who is from udon.

You will before you go home. LOL

You got some good advice about the insurance and all that. Ive never been there more than 1 month at a time so I'm not much help. If you decide to stay mainly in one area I would look into renting a house. They are fairly cheap and can be found online but probably cheaper if you can find someone who know someone local.

As for the aas it's best just to get into a gym and ask someone there since it's constantly changing on what is good and where to get it. I also agree if it's your fist time or even 10th get out and see as much as possible. There is a lot to see.

24? Wow talk about a kid in a candy store. At that age I'm sure you will have all the Thai girls just flocking to you and literally fighting over who goes with you. Dont be selfish and be sure to bring at least 2 or 3 home at a time; I did.

well udon is nice as far as thai upcountry cities goes but it's got very little in the way of nightlife for westerners. sure there are bars but they tend to be scandinavian bars for retired expats to play grab ass with the older "used" girls after they have done their time in pattaya/phuket etc. you can sure as hell find some girls before they start working in those places, udon and the north east are where most of them come from anyway. go to central mall for a while to get out of the sun and you can score every time. there isn't really much to see or do around udon though. go explore the mekong delta, go fishing for some humongous catfish and get bitten by glow in the dark spiders the size of dinner plates. honestly the best cultural thing to do from udon is to take a day or two trip across the border to vientienne and especially luang prabang. the border is only an hour away from udon. udon is quite lacking culturally speaking, it's all farm country really and as cosmopolitan as udon is trying to be, it's still a farm city in upcountry thailand.

didn't realize you were 24. it's a bit young i think to really start enjoying a place like this but if you are mature enough and realize that damn near every girl everywhere is a working girl at some point in her life then it's all good. there really isn't any better advice than the above though, get yourself at least 2-3 girls at the same time and have some fun. you'll end up regretting it forever if you don't and if you do it will go a long ways towards preventing you from putting western girls up on a pedestal, because you'll know better.

Just talked me out of going.... Spiders aren't my thing. Id rather sleep with a cobra. I am still proud of myself for not screaming like a girl when I reached for something on the top of a refrigerator in the Philippines and a spider jumped away from my hand onto the wall a good 2 feet away that was the size of my hand.

LOL I'm the same was with Tarantulas also. For some reason they are just to fuzzy to be real spiders. My daughter even had one for a couple of years and I was able to hold it.

I have learned to control my feelings or emotions when I am around them for the most part but it's not different than I can make myself not laugh when tickled. Doesn't mean they don't freak the sh*t out of me, just I can control my actions for the most part.

BTW, MuscleInk, Ill invite you to go with me my next trip but it will mean my wife has divorced me by then. LOL She has banned all Thailand trips.
Luckily for me she doesnt realize Philippines are not that much differnt.

well to be fair, the glow in the dark spiders are unique to the mekong region and literally no one goes there. that's why they are still there to be found.

the big spider that jumped from your hand to the wall 2 feet away was most likely a huntsman. huge and scary looking and faster than lightning. they are harmless though so once your blood pressure returns to normal you'll be alright. i've got to the point where i'm ok with any spider that invests in a web, i will even catch grasshoppers to feed them because they do their part to keep the insect population in check. any non web building spider inside my house is fair game for the shoe, or in the case of the huntsman which you'll never catch with a shoe, an aerosol bottle and a lighter usually does the trick.

Harmless my ass, I almost had a heart attach. lol

Ha, I like the aerosol can and lighter trick (movie arachnoid phobia). I did that once with a big bee/wasp hive and caught the garage ceiling on fire. lol It was old, dry and even had some pitch. I didn't panic and just grabbed an old pair of overalls hanging on the wall and threw it up against the fire a couple time and put it out.

Yup, that's about the size of it.

You and me both. I almost touched it when I saw this flash and it jumped on the wall behind the refrigerator. I just froze for about 10 seconds before someone noticed I wasnt moving and saw the spider and said it was sort of a pet. Fvck that... I slept with one eye open the next couple of nights.

A very good friend of mine found out the hard way I was afraid of spiders. One time when I was working on the car in the garage one of our wolf spiders showed up and he sort of flipped it towards me. He had never seen me move so fast and I pinned him against the wall almost punching him although he was a good 6" taller than me. He quickly apologized and has never done anything like that since. lol

I dont look up, I'm busy watching my back to make sure some young Thai guy is not trying to give me a shoulder massage while I take a leak. lol Actually I had done enough research before my first trip and was aware they do that in the clubs so I always made a b line to the stalls. I FORGOT to warn my buddy though and he bolted out of the bathroom telling me how some guy came up behind him at the urinal trying to give him a massage.

LOL they are call lady boys but they are easy to spot for the most part because they act VERY flamboyant and usually they dress better and wear more makeup than the Thai girls.

As long as you dont get stupid drunk or pick someone up in a DARK nightclub you should be safe. I only had to pull one of my buddies away from a non girl in a dark club. lol

You can see for yourself. Just google Thai lady-boy test and see how you do. Really though the test is much harder than spotting the real thing.

I've only spent a little over a month in the LOS at once (I stay in bkk mostly) but I think you could live pretty good on around $1500 a month if you want to be free to buy all the food/AAS/gym membership you'll need for your cycles. I think you could get a livable place for around 10,000 baht, or $300 a month. My Thai "gf" pays about 5k baht for her 150 sqft room in bkk.

I've never been to udon but I'm sure it's around 30% cheaper than bkk. I've got a friend who specifically visits udon a couple times a year, if you want I could ask him some specific questions for you.

    Just let me know.

Oh yeah, and what kind of AAS can you get in Thailand? I'm going a few times next year and wouldnt mind some while I'm there. Just wondering though, on a scale of one to completely retarded....how dumb would it be to bring AAS back to Japan with me from bkk? Or would it even matter? I've got common sense but I'd still like someone to spell this one out for me.....thanks.

You can see for yourself. Just google Thai lady-boy test and see how you do. Really though the test is much harder than spotting the real thing.
ya this is one of the most if not the most often asked questions. i despise katoey (ladyboys) because they are way too obvious, aggressive, loud and obnoxious whereas thai working girls for the most part are not. katoey are constantly working in packs, stealing shit from their customers, putting drugs in their drinks to knock them out and steal everything in the room, fighting etc. europeans seem to love them some katoey though, german and french men in particular. oh well to each their own.

when people ask me how to "spot" them, i normally tell them look, you can put on makeup and you can get a boob job and you can even chop off your junk but you're not getting around that y chromosome yet. spotting a thai ladyboy (other than a snapshot) is no more difficult than spotting a man in the bar or in the mall or anywhere else for that matter. it's a man. you've seen them before i'm guessing so you probably have a good idea what they act like.

relax man, huntsman spiders are completely safe to humans http://www.squidoo.com/huntsman-spider and funny enough are one of the few things here that aren't going to kill you. i keed i keed. i've grabbed a tree branch before with a 1 inch long caterpillar on it that blew my hand up like a melon thanks to thousands of poisonous hairs it left in my hand. shit took a month to chill out. it was a pretty colorful caterpillar though.

i've been here ten years and have never encountered the shoulder massage. it's greatly overstated and tends to get more time in the rumor mill than it should, i'm guessing because of how offensive it would seem to western males.

They're easy to spot? I mean on that Idiot Abroad show, Carl meets these lady boys and he's like "I could not tell that they aren't girls."
