Looking for one more piece of laptop advice!
So after further homework I have decided to change directions and leave my Mac idea.
So...here is where I am!
Decided that an ultrabook is the best for my daughters needs. Decided that a cd drive isbecoming obsolete and the benifit of the small weight and size overrides it's dis drive needs.
Soo I am in the marke ASAP for a Ultrabook with at least 4 gig memory, 500 gig hard drive or at least 256 if SSD, I5 or I7 processor and touch screen.
needs to be the smaller units like 13 or 14"
I would like to make a decision and purchase before Fri. C'mon some of you tech geeks! What is the best that meets my requirements???

Acer Aspire S7

I had an HP Spectre Envy until a few days ago but my parents bought me the Acer and my mom has my Envy now. It blows my HP Envy away.Last edited by Shsm; 10-29-2012 at 02:54 PM. Reason: Fixed links, mine is 256 SSD not 128

Just spent 600$ at best buy. Not ultra book but it's tosihba and it's thin and perfect size.
8gb hard drive
750 ram.
One of the best around and for the price.
Was going to go with Mac but waste of 1000$ in my eyes.

Just spent 2 hours at Best Buy on Sat. Fukn idiots there know less than I do (and thats tuff). Besides I am kinda specific about the specs and they only had so many options. Like they might have the right computer but it wasn't the right processor or smaller memory. I have no problem buying from them if they are price competative and carry the product I want..

I like Best Buys stuff, hate their customer service. I bought mine there, but its a basic flip up kind and it is an ASUS. I cant afford the good ones, but I cant complain about mine for 350 bucks! If youre buying it Lunk, I say get what is good but for the best price. If she dont have a dime invested, she cant say anything. If she does, give her a whipping and send her to her room. lol... That ws my dads way of doing things anyways.

She is in college. Get her either the iPad or Samsung Galaxy 10.1 They are virtually the same thing. I got one for the wife and it does everything our laptops do except no CD/DVD drive but the Samsung has a Micro SD slot so you can add as much memory/storage as you want or put music/vidoes on it easily. Also since it has USB (iPad doesnt) you can hook up an external DVD play if you want, external HD or easily hook it up to a TV or???
Also there are some very good and inexpensive covers that have built in bluetooth keyboards to make typing easy. I got one for $30? and it works great.
Dont let them sell you on the aftermarket warranty. That's where they make they money. Rarely does anything go wrong and if it does it will be in the 1st year. If you really want one then look into squaretrade.Last edited by lovbyts; 10-29-2012 at 11:36 PM.
