Gun shows
My buddy wants to go to a gun show and take me cause I've been wanting a new shot gun. How do these work? I've never been to one and he says people just have stands and u can pay cash for guns. Is there no registration or paper work though for weapon ownership??

The laws vary depending on which state you're in.

Depending on your state but there is typicaly paperwork that has to be filled out because these guys (most) have an FFL. They would do whats called a NICS check on you quick. It takes very little time and is just basic background check to make sure your not a felon.

depends on the state.. some guys will take visa.. if your state requires a fed background check before they sale that happens..

Also...an old gun show trick. Look for the guys walking around looking to sell or trade their guns to a dealer. Just like cars the dealer will low ball them and often you can get a great deal by just approaching them and working out a deal. This requires NO paperwork!

Also what has everyone's experience been as far as average pricing at these shows? Cheaper then most retail gun stores or inflated?

Hahahaha
I haven't been researching much yet cuz I still have a couple weeks. I'm starting to become more of a gun enthusiast lately (just have a couple fr hunting) and I'm rly enjoying it. So far I'm looking at moss berg shotguns mostly. I want a semi automatic for clay pigeon shooting. But still a 12 gauge for turkey season. I've been learning a lot lately on more and more guns but it can b a lot to take in at once.

Just go look and have fun. There is a lot more than just guns there. I have been to a few. You also usually get free or discounted admission if you join or if you are a member of the NRA.
Obviously you should know what you are looking for and the going price. Typically rifles or shot guns are cash and carry depending on the state as noted but most everywhere hand guns have a waiting period unless you have a concealed weapons permit.

Yikes! Benelli's are top of the line and very pricey ! Maybe something cheaper to start out and see if you love it enough to drop 10k on a shotgun lol!
