BG, is it definitely acne or is it plugged pores with ingrown hairs? I occasionally get an issue from that if I don't get the wife to shave my neckline with a double edge razor at least weekly. Although it sounds like.your condition was worse than mine, mine does get painful, aggravating, and makes me self conscious.
My beard and hair is fairly coarse and since I'm a ginger it is pretty thick and curly as well, and when on a blast my skin is somewhat oilier.
The thing that gives me relief is this:

Alsp, because my hair is very coarse, I get the best results from these blades, although I generally only get 1-2 uses from them.

Not trying to turn the dungeon into a spa, , but thought the info might help you?Last edited by almostgone; 01-28-2017 at 01:39 PM.

It got really bad yesterday and today. Has to be nerve damage or pinching too with this leg pain and no feeling in my toe/toes.
I did get a great night sleep last night
Well until about 5am I think was the first time I turned over or adjust. And bam I think I woke up the house from yelling lol.
Whole weekend off not just today used today as a vacation day so extra day off!!! I did this a lot since my wife really can't take a full week and I have so much time off I just take an extra day here and there.
Tat is done. Not even sure if by pic u could tell a difference but I am very happy with it.

Back & biceps finished. Haven't been working them together lately, but had a boost of energy. Plus I want to do legs & take another crack at rack pulls tomorrow.
BG, Sfla - sorry for your troubles guys. Sfla, you're still forcing the issue with the hurt knee aren't you? And you're irritating the living daylights out that spinal segment/nerve - you've got foot numbness now? I know you must not have a choice, but if you start developing weakness in your leg or get to the point of being either bowel or bladder incontinent . . .
-
01-28-2017, 04:38 PM #45213
Prox the meniscus isn't the issue really just the spine. But pain has traveled to entire leg. Numbness in the toe has been about 3-4 weeks now. I'm in process for the epidural. I can't do anything more until I get that done doc said.
Prox I love your opinion so please help me understand.
You think lifting even at half the intensity is giving me more problems?
I've been asked about bowel and bladder. And I have tried looking up. What does this mean or what r they looking for? Inconsistent? Unable to go? Things have definitely changed but I don't think it was a bad change.
I still go to gym to keep my mind free. It's the one thing I have outside of the family. Meaning hobbys. I don't push to hard. And before coming back I didn't go for about a month.
Again love your feedback prox.

This isn't one of my usual posts but would like to share
I've been learning how to meditate over the last few weeks for my PTSD and the course i'm doing is called "Mindfulness" which I wont go into yet unless people are interested, but ive got to say I found this very hard for me to understand and especially practise but over the last few weeks ive manage to get to grips with it and things are moving forward fast now.
I can honestly say this has changed my life for the better in so many ways, my life wasn't bad anyway but these techniques have had a dramatic impact in many areas. Its very hard to explain but I will have a go if anyone is interested.

Regarding the knee, I just always assumed it was causing you to change the way you walked & stood, essentially that you were taking pressure off that leg and subsequently causing the back issue. Very sorry if I got that wrong, just recalled the knee really being an issue at one time.
About bowel & bladder, you become incontinent, meaning you lose the ability to control those muscles & the urine or feces comes out without you being aware of it happenening & not being able to stop it.
With lifting, you would be best to judge that. Just gauge your symptoms during and after your workouts. If you aren't making the symptoms worse in any way, I'd say your fine, but if you are aggravating anything, just not a wise move Sfla.
Hear you regarding the gym giving you peace of mind, just watch & be aware of how your symptoms respond to different things & avoid things that increase them. BTW, is work tolerable?
Hey man, did the wife's surgery work out well?

Marcus, sorry if this is inappropriate or getting too personal, but PTSD? Can you share?

Ok prox. I figured out the knee. I was getting bad inflammation or whatever when I would do certain movements. Say bending down to one knee. Kinda like a catcher in baseball. And I always did that with the left knee. Well that's when I would get the "pop" and cause issues. The knee has been fine for awhile but u r right. It was a issue for me for a good time.
These issues now is completely from the spine ...spondylitis? Spelling. 4mm slippage of l5/s1.
Work is not really tolerable. Standing really hurts after periods of time. And I lift and stretch which causes the pain.
Wife surgery went very very well. Still minor weakness in her foot. But that's only issue now. I'm going to same neuro she had. He wants to do same surgery on me as he did on her.

I wouldn't like to say on the open forum Prox but its children related from many years ago and was a traumatic time which plays with my emotions.
I work a very intense stressful job and also work for myself which keeps my mind very busy and the meditation is really helping to give my mind a rest and also helps with thought's what come inside my head from my past. Its early days but "Mindfulness" is really interesting and life changing up to now.
Kind of a big change for me because I usually attack things in the gym with my intense approach so this is a new area for me to look into

Very happy you're finding a new outlet & escape. It's amazing how crippling certain emotions can be & how they stay with us.
I'm thankful that my job brings me more peace than trouble. However my demons always come back at night & alcohol has been my way of quieting them. I've been fortunate that it's usage has never negatively effected my relationships or work & that I've inherited a pretty durable liver.
Appreciate you sharing Marcus, have a good one or wait - let me try - would cheers mate be the appropriate way to close?

So glad to hear the wife is doing better!
Spondylolysthesis is the slipping of the vertebra. Sorry for butting in, just know it must suck cause it sounds like your between a rock and a hard place. Glad you're followed by a surgeon & your knee is better.
About work and the gym, just try to not worsen the leg & foot stuff as much as possible. If those worsen, you are definitely doing the wrong things. Good luck buddy!

I deal with my past well, its there and never goes away but I don't let it effect me in a negative way or others around me. What I find hard is my life ie my work is extremely intense and my personal projects I have going can become over powering and I find it very hard to relax my mind, its always thinking and cant seem to escape it. I have my methods what do help and work for me but ive been searching for something to really make my mind relax and try and think of nothing. I know that may sound daft but I want to achieve this without medication as well we know meds do work but its not something I want to do and I cant do due to my the work I do.
I think looking from the outside its many aspects of my whole life what make my mind work overtime and ive found meditation through mindfulness a very remarkable tool to have. I am trained in NLP and some CBT so I am not uncommon to dealing with the mind but meditation is really life changing for me at this moment in time but ive got a few more weeks and months at it yet.
Cheers mate will do fine LMFAO lol but slip cunt in there somewhere for me

This is great to hear Marcus as I too, struggle with PTSD... and I believe have found the same exact book that your speaking of and it comes with a CD as well?! I've just started this myself and am looking forward to the things I need to be honest with myself about! You've got a hell of way with timing my friend!
Cheers cunt - I just read that part lmaoLast edited by NACH3; 01-29-2017 at 01:06 AM.

Morning guys!
Well my legs are just absolutely rocked - and I went out Friday to a Chinese Duck place in Chinatown, Philly... wow was is good but man it did a number to my guts yesterday(shitting all day long) needless to say I'll stick with my chicken and rice/or pasta! Lmfao!
I'm going in for chest and bis this am - looking to tear a new arse out of it!
Kickass and enjoy your Sunday fellas + GGR!

I know we spoke a few weeks ago regarding your problems and I alerted you to Mindfulness and how its helping to relax my mind. I know I sent you a link but you was moving so its nice to hear you just started it. I know its hard to start with but keep with it because you wont believe what happens once you get over some hurdles. Need any help just let me know mate
I know my PTSD is the driving force like yours, mines is more of a hectic lifestyle and workload what makes past traumatic times reappear and once those demons come and I cant get in the gym to train things can soon build up and I cant afford to let that happen. Its a good job I am very aware

Glad you are at least getting some rest. Even though you're hurting, the rest does let the mind unwind/unload a little bit.
I can tell.you from experience that being in a high stress environment with little to no rest will really put the fvck on you, especially if you do like many of us and push it to the side, put your head down, and try to keep going. Eventually it will catch up to you. So if you get a chance to grab some rest of get in some R&R like you did this weekend, definitely take advantage of it.Last edited by almostgone; 01-29-2017 at 01:52 AM.

Yes you did and I thank you wholeheartedly! You know that I have the trouble of turning off my thoughts, like you that's what I strive for... silence! Lol It may sound loopy but it sure is maddening when you just can not turn off your mind... and mine comes when either thoughts of my past are brought forth, and my mind just dwells for an answer that I know is there but just haven't mastered the way to shut it out...I've actually been talking with a woman who is very in tune with her mind and body and uses meditation and science backed theories and just talking with her she seems so happy with who she is! That's what I want and strive for and I know I can and will get there myself!
I'll keep you up to date on how things are going for sure and I'm very much looking forward to changing this for the good! Thx for sharing and I'm sure we'll talk soon mate!

Really glad I am reading what you printed in bold above, Marcus. I know we've shared our a good bit of our pasts/demons with each other over the years, and your post sounds like a combination of acceptance and satisfaction?
Would love to hear more of your journey with this process. I do meditate almost daily, usually just before lifting, but mine is more of an inner focus on relaxation and an attempt at mental housecleaning.
At first meditating before lifting seemed counterproductive to me when I thought it over, but once I tried it, I found that "finding my Zen" helped me to focus better and also direct my intensity with better results. Shared it with one of our HIT friends on your side of the world and they said it did seem to help them, so if you get time and could expand on your approach, I'm sure there will be an attentive audience.
Thanks, boss, and good morning! Well, it's almost 3 a.m. here, but fvck it, it is past midnight. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Started using meditation maybe 20 years ago, nothing fancy, just basic principles, and always seemed to help me in ways I find hard to put into words.
The last month it has been hard for me to be able to do it, so yes, i'm very interested in hearing more about new techniques or ways to improve it.
Edit: funny AG, always enjoyed meditation before training. Even if its only 5 minutes.

Gym in 30 for me - I'm torn fellas help me figure out what I can do here?!
may do a working set or two of presses, or flys into presses, or presses than flys separate not sure yet... but I'd really like to hit my arms together... and just tear em the hell up(I want to feel the fibers rip & tear down)
I know Kel does chest and arms... I used to do b4 HIT... delts and arms but always liked Chest by itself, then recently Kel turned me on to Chest & bis... which has been great... I guess I'm thinking of hitting chest twice this wk today being a more shaping day or all out Chest since I was able to hit both tris and bis last wk w/a major/minor w/o and it's been going good - just looking for some opinions as I'd really like to hit my arms together and start with chest tomorrow maybe??
Chime in please fellas!Last edited by NACH3; 01-29-2017 at 07:39 AM.

Well, if you're wanting to really blast arms, go with several supported biceps exercises and try a slow 5 count positive and slow 10 count negative on each and every rep, followed by some forced reps.
For triceps, go with the slow reps again, and then for your triceps finisher, get setup in a Smythe machine for close grip presses, get an idea of your working weight, and on your last rep go with the slowest negative rep you can manage. After that grab some air, set the bar back up to your starting position, and complete the slowest negative only rep you can do. Follow with cable pressdown, and or skullcrushers.
See if that doesn't give you some extra stimulation. That's one way you could approach it?Last edited by almostgone; 01-29-2017 at 08:13 AM.

Lmao - I've had to dig out ingrown hairs in my face - I'd try and twease them out then the root wouldn't come out - I'd get just under the skin and a coil of hair would come out... thankfully I haven't really scared my face - but it took 3-4months to get it healed b/c that same damn hair would keep getting stuck under the skin - I've got very course hair on my face
Sounds excellent AG! I do use a lot of unilateral ex's for arms now(especially curls) so I can surely give myself as many forced reps and negs but I'm surely going to try the long count negs as much as possible!
Thanks a lot big guy!!!

Actually I stopped straight razoring since I can now where a slight beard(just has to be lined well and like a 5 o'clock shadow) - now I'll shave under my neck with a mach 3 and going to try a straight razor shave at a barber too
But when I did it was always like a Mach 3 turbo and I strayed and went with the cheaper but upped it to 4 razors and that's when I noticed -
