Morning, HIT squad. . Just finished an online health risk assessment that is part of the process of getting extra HSA $$ from my employer. Totally stupid questions. Said my BP was borderline hypertensive @ 120/59. Believe the dumbest question was "has a Dr. ever told you that you have back pain?". LOL, WTF? If a Dr. has to tell me I have back pain, there are much more pressing issues that need to be addressed.

Well, I do have back pain. It's been pretty easy to tell the last few days though it's much improved. Ongoing issue, hahvent had a flare up in a couple of years. It's the parasthesia down the right leg that's a bit of a bitch. I've had some different, but good, workouts since Friday when it flared up.
On the plus side, since I stopped squatting in the Smith machine, I have zero knee pain!!!

Good one ag hahahaha
@biz I'd try something simple like magnesium and some laying back, I got this same excruciating pain when taken too much nac and really nothing helped but just good overnight sleep and lowering nac dose

Yeah, I did it because I can't get anywhere near parallel on traditional squats but get below that with the smith. Started doing front squats a few weeks ago, I can get the depth but the weight needs to be worked on as does the shoulder flexibility.
I am waiting on some Do Win weightlifting shoes which will hopefully mean I can get a great depth on front squats and reasonable depth on back squats. Of course, I'm gonna look a twat with proper shoes and a light weight on my shoulders, lol.

When there is uncertainty in the USA the money flows out of the Dollar into other safe havens, when we looking at FX and metals you will see the dollar being sold all over the FX market especially around the USD/JPY ( for reason I wont go into) into other areas. The best safe heavens would be the Euro or metals ie Gold but at this moment in time and if you know what your looking for regarding volatility you will know the EURO wouldn't be the best option because of the European elections and the uncertainty around this. The bigger players ie banks and funds don't like uncertainty so they will flow it into metals that would be the best play. So I would sell the dollar and buy gold in these circumstances but watch the flow and follow where the money goes. The reason why the higher than average volatility in the FX and metal markets at the moment is because Trump is unpredictable, so money flows really quick and daily due to what this guys says, but if you look at the higher time frame you can see where the bigger players are slowing building positions so you can either go with the bigger picture or scalp daily.
One of the reasons why the USD/JPY is down 0.54% today or 62pips is because of the Fed minutes later on today, so this morning you could see the money being taken out of the $ but it wasn't being put into euros that's why Gold is up today, easy play this morning was the sell the $ and buy Gold, also Euro's were being sold due to the poll's in France and the ECB discussing exiting QE.
So if we look at the 1 hour chart of the usd/jpy you'll see the $ being sold off heavy this morning for reason of two ive mentioned above. It started at 12:00 noon - 22:00hrs last night UK time. I was in this trade but I am more of a day trader/scalper than a range or position trader so I am out once ive started to make money unless I will position myself into a longer trade.
If we look at the exact same chart for gold spot you can see money start to flow in at 12:00 noon - 02:00hrs so the traders were positioning themselves for the dollar sell off, so if your was analysing these charts you would say money was flowing out of the $ into Gold due to the risk events today the that's why the trade was a good one. Remember this is only the 1 hour chart bars so its a shorter term view of the bigger picture which is what I more or less prefer doing then you don't get caught as much.
Now if we look at Gold over a longer term period like the chart below which is daily, ive drawn a trend line which shows Gold being bought on every reversal over a longer period from the 19/12/16, we at a critical time now if it bounces and carries on with the uptrend or reserves until the bigger players buy into it or let it fall. This will depend on many things and like what the Fed says about its longer term Monetary Policy and their view on how many rate hikes the USA is going to have this year, also the elephant in the room is Trump. So its interesting times especially if you lump all this together with the European elections and brexit
Personally I'd be looking at buying Gold longer term once it reaches the lows of the year, that's my longer term view but day trading/scalping it would depend on all the above plus more.
I hope that makes sense AG - let me know if it doesn't and i'll try to put it a different way

Bank account isn't a flowing market and its only betting if you don't understand why your buying and selling. Its all down to money management ( same with your bank account) but of course its a hard market I just prefer to piggy back the bigger players by following how they conduct their business.

Thinking of changing my split, almost a year I dont change it significatively. Maybe will be back to:
Arms
Chest/back
legs
shoulders/traps
Dont know if the wife will let me add an extra day in the gym to change it further

Actually, I get the gist of it. My employer is a 50/50 partnership between a Japanese company and its German competitor, so I get decent access to market activity, etc. when I get time to look at it, LOL.
It.just seems there are more factors influencing the markets and commodities than I am used to what with so many major players economies being tinkered with.
Appreciate your taking the time to post that up, boss. You know me, I'm just a poor redneck trying to make the most of my $$. Have been fortunate with managing my 401k even with the '08 downturn, but I try to keep myself at least exposed to the financial activity.
The other gage I've been using when balancing my metals buying is the ratio of the price of silver to gold currently vs. 8-10 years ago. Either gold is overpriced still or silver is grossly underpriced, so my purchases have leaned mainly towards silver although I do have just a tad of gold.
Thanks again!Last edited by almostgone; 02-22-2017 at 07:15 AM.

Did back this morning
Went well started with BB rows after a few warm ups and stretches, then into T-bar's then I moved onto the pulley work and finished with hypers and 20mins cardio.
Not bad, heavy weight and felt good. Very intense and zero pain from the shoulder
Plenty of people stirring at me training always a good sign and also great motivator
Ripped and pulled fuck out of my back - solid workout

I don't even bother with my employers health screening for free HSA $...it would all be worth it but since I would be considered obese due to them using the stupid ass BMI height to weigh calculations I would have to due a bunch of conference calls with a "health coach" to devise a plan to get my weight down lol...im a busy man I don't have time for bullshit...

At my last doctors appointment she told me I was in the obese range because I'm 5-11 and over 200 lbs. I said look at me do I look fat? Well I'm just telling you you are in the range. So I took of my shirt and hit a double bicep and most muscular and walked out. No I didn't.
