I may be wrong, but I think steelhead is the same species as rainbow trout, but stay in the ocean mainly and only venture into freshwater to breed.
I might have that all wrong, though.
Now the local Brook trout in the mountain streams are very good, but dang, they can be so finicky about what they will bite on.
One day you might throw out a cricket and they love it, the next day they won't touch anything but a kernel of corn. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Got the results of my ABI study today. My ABI was 1.21 at testing. The range is 0.9 - 1.3. Anything below 0.9 indicates problems with circulation to the legs.
Still no love on the MRI due to COVID-19, but I can understand the need to prioritize cases right now. A crappy shoulder is nothing compared to the grief some people are dealing with.
Another NCV in 4 weeks ( I think that's correct).
Edit: There may be an EMG as well. That's still up in the air. Definitely should hit my out of pocket max soon.Last edited by almostgone; 04-08-2020 at 06:03 PM.

My wife’s asking bout the ABI. Why? Sorry buddy, she’s an unofficial member of the forum and knows everyone.

The prior cardiac issues, my age, and the clotting disorder were the primary factors on that, Prox. We need to make her an official member of the forum!
Tell her about the issues with my heart and that I have the Leiden Factor V. I have had problems with throwing clots in the past, also am resistant to anticoagulants, and refused to have an IVC device.
Here's a rundown on the clotting disorder.

One of our PT friends has suffered from DVTs. She read an article recommending using more compression sock usage due to a bump in DVTs because of isolation and less activity. Started wearing mine (left over from hip surgery and used again when I first started with hgh, lol).
My wife recently tried clen and t-3 and it wasn’t for her. She really misses her phen phen. She used it decades ago & lost weight like crazy. She says TY for the offer of being an official member!

Hopefully a top-notch Friday for everyone. Just finished up a therapy session.
Still waiting for the radiology clinic to schedule me. Would really like to see what the RC muscles look like. I'm not going to clog up the thread, but the therapist went and got the therapy Dr. and the chiro. They made one adjustment and strength increased somewhat. I asked if that was a sign the the RC was an issue and they said until they can get imaging, there's no way to tell. However I past all of the basic screening tests that they and other places used when screening for RC issues.
We'll see how it goes. A friend of mine helped me layout a TB500/BPC-157/HGH/test/npp/var/kitchen sink short run that I'm hoping will aid in recovery.
Either squats or legs tomorrow morning. If I can load the 100s on my leg press, then I'll hit legs. If not, I'll load plates and squat.Last edited by almostgone; 04-10-2020 at 02:32 PM. Reason: forgot to list the var...

Maybe (hopefully) that's the entire reason for the laxity, Prox. All they did was have me place my hand on my hip, the chiro held my forearm just below the elbow, and applied very gentle pressure against the anterior head of my shoulder. I felt a slight shift in my shoulder, but no pain.
They had already evaluated my current strength today by having me hold my arm out in front of me and try to resist as they applied gentle pressure downwards. After the manipulation of the shoulder they repeated the test and I was able to resist the pressure downwards with more strength.
Keep in all of the manipulation was done with very gentle pressure and the pressure the applied downwards is fairly gentle due to my lack of strength with that arm It was just eating at my brain because the last thing I want to deal with is any RC surgery.
LOL, I can be a terminal thinker at times.
Physical therapy again Monday. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

The hand on the hip testing was for shoulder instability. Yes, the RC would help, but generally the shoulder is sprained significantly or dislocated to cause the laxity. Strengthening the cuff will help, but if those muscles are weak because of the nerve root pressure, that’s going to be tough.
If it was a RC injury, you’d see it on an mri.
I currently have both my Supraspinatus and infraspinatus clearly torn off and turning fatty on the mri. Although not as clear on the mri, my teres minor was probably mostly torn off as well. Months later, the pain left & I no longer have any pain, I assume it just is gone. Then of course, I tore off the long head of the biceps, which I knew was going, because the mri showed it. BTW, I don’t have any shoulder instability.
I can only handle light front, lateral and rear raises with that shoulder. Shoulder presses are impossible. Any chest pressing has to be on only certain machines if the angle is right. Oddly, I can still manage close grip bench on free-weights, but the angle has to be precise.
Up to last summer I was still able to do free-weight inclines. It was a sad and embarrassing moment when I last tried with only the bar and my left arm and shoulder completely collapsed on me. I had to slowly roll the bar to my hips and take it off that way. It made me a little sick. With all of that said, I’m still able to get in good workouts, pump up nicely & when I cycled last summer, actually grew with lower doses. I’m all stocked up and praying the gyms will open back up this summer; ready to stretch out the t-shirt again and do myself proud for an old fart.
Moral of the story, if there’s a will, there’s a way. You got this buddy.

Oh, I'm staying stubborn! I am anxious to get the MRI done to see what's going on with the soft tissue. Probably will call the radiology clinic Monday or Tuesday and see if they're taking taking walk-ins yet.
The last time I tried it, they weren't happy about it, but that absolutely no signage up on the doors about any restrictions on enrtering. An order for the MRI had already been sent and I also had an order in my hand.
I think they were pissed because the doors are supposed to stay locked and they unlock them for emergency cases. There was little traffic so I walked up, opened the door and walked up to the desk. Man, you would've thought they slung a bucket of shit in their face.
I never told them my name so that's a plus.
Appreciate the info, Prox! There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Back day yesterday. Got lucky yesterday. No, not like that. I was moving my bench (adjustable) into place and a bolt and washer just fell off on the main adjustable support bar. So happy this didn't occur under pressure on chest day or similar. Anyway, the bolt's a little fvcked so I'll be contacting Body Solid on Monday to order two new ones and the threaded support tube that goes between. I was able to get it back in there sufficiently enough to hold.
(working sets only)
Close grip pulldowns: 3 sets 10-12 reps
Supported 35 degree smith rows: 3 sets 6-10 reps
T bar rows: 3 sets relatively heavy 8-10 reps
Pulldowns: 3 sets 10 ish reps
Shrugs: 3 sets 12-15 with RP on last
Bike: 10 minutes at a pretty good pace
Really good day. Back workouts have been superb lately. Feel like progress is being made.

I’m with you, get the MRI by all means and find out the status of the cuff. But, getting one now? Good luck and congrats if you can get in. If you were out here, I very much doubt you’d be getting any therapy as well.
Don’t judge them too hard, they’re / we’re a touchy bunch at times. I left the profession because of the complaints, negativity and attitudes that you get non-stop, every day. It’s part of the job, but sometimes gets to be too much. Lol, you should have seen their faces when I told them the doctor wanted me to get chest x-rays right AFTER they tested me for Covid-19. I personally thought the doctor made an error and he did. I’ve never been looked at with hatred that way before, but it was justified.
