    Who adores training?

I am still so passionate about lifting weight and training my body to the max even after 25 yrs worth under my belt, I absolutely love training and pushing my body to the extreme levels to see how it will react. When i'm feeling strong and my weights are moving up and I and in serious overload environment I just know how my body is going to react. It still gives me so much pleasure assaulting my body with so much pain week in week out its like I am some addicted junkie needing his fix. I train and can't wait to get home and eat, drink and eat more food, ive never been hungry for fuking years now I am constantly full even when cutting and I can eat the most bizarre foods which are so basic without a seconds thought about taste.

When I go out and people mention the size of me or just look back at me and I hear them say look at the size of him it gives me such a warm happy feeling inside like ive just had a super high fix and i'm content again. I walk in the gym and start my workout and the same people are there watching me train again another fix what supports my addiction to training and size, when I see them out of the corner of my eye watching if I can make this next lift I know in my heart I am going to kill it and failure doesn't even cross my mind, I fall to the floor sweating and gasping for air and I see them talking wondering how I just did what I did and in the back of my mind I am thinking the same, the pleasure from all of this is so extreme it still makes this one of the most enjoyable things I do.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

im gettin a more and more passionate about it....now finally being able to get myself closer to beyond failure....if not already there.....I find myself laughing at the pain when im drop setting....literally....just chuckling as the pain gets worse as I continue to rep em out
I did legs Mon and they were so numb during my workout I was walking like I took 20 glute shots in virgin muscle lol
....sidenote....Marcus I do two warmup sets....one working set(rest pause) and then the next two sets are drop sets(30%) to failure....thats how I did my legs Mon aand chest/tris yesterday and loved it....is that a good routine to do? I dont have a partner so I cant really do forced and negatives

And the people watching have mostly been the same size for years and just can't seem to figure out why?

    Sounds good,
Once you have done the warm up sets or feel sets you complete one working which could either be to complete failure then 2 forced and 2 negs, or failure and then rest pause to failure as many as possible or dropsets, that movement is done. If your doing one working set rest pause how can you do another two working sets with dropsets??? doesn't sound right to be honest

    No doubt.

    Quick story:

I've felt like crap all morning. May be related to an iron supplement I'm taking due to BW indicating my iron was in the toilet. When iron goes down TSH goes up and vice versa. Really a catch-22, chicken/egg thing. Makes you tired/lethargic but I am getting better. Drink too much coffee near the iron can equal upset stomach and trips to the crapper. Which is where I was too much.

Anyway, I love leg day and particularly squats because it's such a challenge within myself. But today I was just looking for a reason to skip it due to how I felt. I don't like feeling torn like that. I wake up on leg day and it's the first thing I think of. So, I drug myself down to the basement and did some bodyweight squats and a few sets of high-rep extensions to warm up. Then did about 5 warm up sets getting up to my goal weight for the day. Every friggen warm-up felt crappy and I was questioning why I was here.

I wasn't even liking the music blaring out of my Ipod during this time. So, switched to my favorite band (Foo Fighters) and cranked it up. Sat and intensly focused for a minute or so. Got under the bar and from the first rep it felt great. All the bad was gone. Cranked out 15 and put it down and let out a yell. I'm alone in my basement to it doesn't bother anyone other than the cat who runs cause she's a pvssy (really.) I was just so f'n mentally pumped. Not physically so much but mentally. That's the feeling I love. That mental rush!

Normally I'd do only one balls out set and that was my original intent. I sat down to contemplate my next exercise but felt so good I got up and quickly did another set of 12 with probably less than a minute rest. Now I was pumped. All in all it ended up being a great workout.

I'm not sure why I told this story. I guess the moral would be don't blow off a workout unless you have a legitimate reason to do so. I guess it shows the power of the mind and how focus determines results.

Kel, nice story, I fully understand. I posted this in my log on Saturday.

It train 4 on 3 off. I doubt I could train like that 4 days in a row but I have no excuse to not try it and find out. Starting Tuesday with delts

probably the best explanation Ive heard. I never did drugs, never really got into drinking or partying, never really liked team sports cause I dont like only being as good as the weakest link... competition fighting and BBing are what I like to do

Hi Sawyer. I'd read this thread from start to finish. Most any advice I would give the big man has already given in the Q & A's along the way. If you're not making gains there's a reason. Bodybuilding is as physical as it is mental as it is scientific. And I don't necessarily mean aas when I reference scientific. Find your weakness or what you're not doing correctly and fix it!

I know, wasn't intending on doing that much mileage but it all fell that way. The old man bought anew car so had to drop him up for that then tge rest was just mad mileage.

I thought I would of got more response's than I did, what's wrong with you guys??? where is your drive and aggression come on!!!!!!!!
my motivation is not so much of adoration and joy of training. its more of anger and hatred.

in my mind, i am thinking to all the bigger guys in the gym... i'll catch you! to all the people who doubted me, i'll show you! to all the kids blocking my way, i'll kill you!...lol

I like that hahaha I remember when I first started training with some power lifters and these guys were huge compared to me, they were shifting some serious weight around and once we started to write on this old dirty gym wall our lifts and measurements of our quads ,biceps etc and I was saying in the back of my mind that I will catch you big fuker and I will be stronger and bigger. I did and did it with style

Anger and hatred can feed some great motivation, I use to think of some things what really upset me before my working sets to set my adrenalin off so I was in the zone and the pain wouldn't be unbearable, I still do it to this day and can easily get myself into fight mode with thinking and putting myself into areas of my life what really angered me.

but i have to admit, my killer face melts away soon after the first or second exercise. after piling on a few dropsets, i am usually panting and gasping for breath. i still try to frown and stare straight ahead to stay in the zone. obviously i dont talk to anyone while in the gym. and nobody bothers talking to me.

just done chest aswel in your style. went for it but got weights a bit wrong. i train alone and went for rest pause didnt really like it on inclime db press or flat db fly. just a bit awkward geting db up when exhausted next time ill go for drop sets on these exercises and ill have a beter idea of weight.

Yeh that's right using rest pause with db will be hard if your training alone, dropsets are ideal...
