That should show up even a fascia tear I would think. I sweat it sounds like a partial tear and you know, you have been dogging it pretty hard recently.
Post up any updates, Nach. Also, don't let the dietician cut you too short on calories. Hell, order in a pizza if you have to.There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

So guys
I'm leaving the hospital now
I did, however, tear my quad(MRI confirmed so it was no infection) weird as it got it did release something that caused slight cellulitis that the IV antibiotics cleared up -- it was the swelling & redness from the quad! Good call AG!
I'll be taking her easy on quads but I am allowed to resume all other lifting - even talked my doc into posterior chain work we'll play by ear tho legs never responded like this b4 tho - but I wasn't lifting them hard enough either! Just goes to show ya it's easy to my to yourself saying you went or have gone all out(more so to the youngsters and people newly starting)! Although we all need a good kick in the arse sometimes

Yesterday was supposed to be leg day but that didn't happen and I felt like back and bi.

3 - 30 second planks
Lat pull down
Delta
Seated pull over
High mt row
Spider rows
Seated calf. Needed break from back
DB rows
Weighted Roman chair
Hammer curls bi curls
Concentration curls.
Preacher curls.
Clean and press
250 calories on row
Done. Liked it!

Thanks RC! It's a sm tear, but more of a bad strain, too! True on that I was kicking some arse lately! Good news is I got the ok from doc to return heavy to upper body and light(ish) posterior chain work! But nothing primarily quad dependent...
I'm wondering if sumo deads at a light weight could be ok?!?! Or a Jefferson squat or the one where the bar is between your legs(perpendicularly) by your groin in. Split legged lunge stance and your pulsing the movement(like a static lunge w/free weights)?! That usually hammers my back hamstring yet hits the front quad

Killed back tonight.
One of my best sessions.
Weights as strong as when I was on tren . Feeling good.
Standing straight arm pull downs. 4sets
Old school tbar. 1w 2f 2w dd. ( almost lost it here. Had to sit a catch my self for a minute)
Seated cg rows 2f 1w 1d
Wide grip pull downs 2w dd
High pull hammers 2w
Hyper to finish.
Short and very intense. Was feeling it today

Take it easy and start off with light stretching of the quads worked for me, Nach, along with ice and rolling with a roller. I actually went for a deep tissue massage specifically for my quad just a few days after I injured mine. Not sure if that was a good idea, but it did get things moving and the Dr. didn't fuss at me about it.
Jeffersons are working good for me and I now do them in between leg extensions and hacks. It definitely keeps the weight down on hacks.
You'll know what to do if you listen to.your body.
I don't know what this girl is doing on the Smythe machine, it definitely isn't a Jefferson squat, but thought Haz would appreciate it.

Going to have to have a re-think regarding my training. Body is breaking down and is screaming at me to stop with the heavy weight and intensity. 30yrs of hardcore lifting is taking it out of me. I have to be sensible about this for health and my future with lifting.
-
Idk what that is but she can do that next to me(or on my face)
Thx AG! I'm definitely going to keep icing and elevating - surely taking it very easy on quads - just enough to get some blood flowing... But not yet lol
Did you wrap it when lifting other BPs? I think that would help?!

Looks like I'll be taking today off... I may give shoulders a go or something upper body! I've gained a good 4-5lbs sitting me at 212+ in the am - I think it's mostly water from the continuous saline drip lol (all BW came back great) so I'm very happy about that - lipids/TSH/iron/CBC/
AST was a little elevated - they asked if I had a drink b4 I came in - no - so they were confused there :-p
Maybe just rest but I'd love to get a lift in...

What's worked for me, and I've been at it even longer is to simply listen to my body more. Train less, more rest, the usual stuff I preach here. The "listening" part for me is that if I don't feel up to a full hard core hit routine I don't force myself to do it. I'll scale it back and usually go with two working sets per exercise with occasional RP's and DD's. Basically every day I lift I make the decision what style it will be based on how I feel. Sometimes it'll take a set or two to help me decide.
I've stayed much healthier this way and feel I've continued to make progress as I've aged.

Damn it! I've bit the inside of my lip like 4 times in the last 5-6 hours and can't find my stash of silver nitrate sticks. Have some raw crystals in a bottle but don't want to try to apply that small of an amount from a bottle.
You would.think that after 51+ years, I would have chewing food and eating down pat by now. I swear one more time and I'm going to heat up a paper clip and cauterize it the hard way. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...
